@AndrewLi :D Thanks. I just changed to it today. Trying to get trendsetter while there's still time but I think I'll change back when I'm done. I like the Jayne hat but this is so funny, the old man baby.
@DavidPostill I guess... The idea is to post a good answer though. ;-) But since there are many users on SU, chances are you'll get an upvote for an answer that may be ignored on another site
@Mariano That isn't necessarily true. SO has even more users but it is harder to get upvotes because there are many more question and answers posted. Somewhere there is a balance between users and numbers of questions/answers ...
Good point about the date of theach document. I answered the question while myou train was arriving and wrote it using phone, so sorry if the answer was not derailed enough. Just wanted to help... — AlexR4 hours ago
I'm using SugarSync to sync files between my phone and my computer, but I'm not sure if things are actually working as they should.
It would be great to watch Android network traffic in real time.
Does anyone know of an app?
When i looked on the winterbash page where they describe about each of the hats, there is the description of
Third Time's A Charm Hat
http://winterbash2016.stackexchange.com/third-times-a-charm
which tells to
hit the reputation cap on three different days
Now when i look over the ans...
@MangatRaiModi good to know. In your case, the question already had an answer when you posted, but I reckon it would be an unusual requirement for the Mild Mannered hat to allow a previous answer and not one afterwards.
Perhaps it's "accepted with no votes and no other activity for at least 12 hours"
There is an issue with a particular link's 404 error page in the Winter Bash 2016
For an example, the below two URLs are response the generic 404 error page
http://winterbash2016.stackexchange.com/hats
http://winterbash2016.stackexchange.com/test
But http://winterbash2016.stackexchange.com/ha...
Right now the front page Popular tab is fairly broken -- it's a simple descending sort by views. As Joel said in podcast #18, it is "a self-fulfilling prophecy." But this is not intentional, it's only because we haven't had time to improve it yet!
As I sit down to write a better algorithm, I tho...

I really like the new Stack Exchange home page, where certain questions from the Stack Exchange Network are presented, along with a hotness rating that is described as "arbitrary" in its tooltip.
How do these arbitrary hotness points work?
@SouravGhosh The answer to your question is in the answer
> There is nothing wrong with testing theories to get secret hats, but you should still be following the same patterns you did before hats and after hats. If you change your actions to get a hat, then make sure it would still be something you'd be doing outside of Winter Bash.
Just like badges - you don't go review "looks OK" blindly on 1000 posts to get a Steward badge, or solicit upvotes in chat to get a Great Answer badge, so don't do silly things for hats either.
@Jefromi Right. 1) that is why I asked for opinion in first place. 2) I have edited the question and the answer to make it more useful (IMHO) which is generally I do (review history is public), so was curious whether I can draw kind attention of anybody who can verify the quality and usefulness. But I get the point, thanks anyway. :)
@Catija Right, please refer to above comment, this is nothing with the change in behaviour, I did, I do and will continue to do so anyway, with or without the hat. Keep the fun alive, thanks. :)
@Catija Well, I wouldn't say advertise, but time to time, I ask for feedback from fellow users on chat in Q/A or ask for advice from specifically knowledgeable users, yes, so, that is it. The overall target is to improve the post quality, if a hat comes by, that's a bonus, that's all I have to say. I get the point thought and I respect that, no issues.
The Hatter secret hat is described below. Copied from here

Why is it called The Hatter?
I cannot figure out the relevance of the name. From what I remember, it would ...
Looks like I might get enough points on a third site to finally get 'running ragged' but I am not yet buying the hatbox.
@David, looks like a fun competition, but as I do not even know what blender is, I think I skip it for this year. (I am running ragged in real life this week.)
@Willeke It looks like you have to Reject more then you approve with at least 8 rejects (or reject edits). I got my hat after this run. But I have not enough rep anywhere else to verify.
@David MM = Mild Mannered.. I don't know why I didn't get it with this answer on ES.SO. I think we should add a requirement to the GDoc. Perhaps it's "accepted with no votes and no other activity for at least 12 hours".
@rene, thanks. I am afraid I will not find out then. Where I have enough rep, we do not have that many edits to review and most are good. I will not block good edits just for a hat. (As is also requested somewhere.)
And now, I have another hat I think I should have gotten. This answer on ES.SO was posted 9 days after the question and accepted 7 hours ago. The author even won Tumbleweed badge. No Lifesaver for me
