The 14 hour 'lag' might be one where you need other people to upvote you, which can happen any time.

About the 8.2and so on, I did get it on deleting old comments, not posting new comments in that time frame. Several others here tested it and 10 or more deleted comments (older ones or newer ones did not matter) of which several had been upvoted.

It seems so. Some guessed it needs to be 50% of the deleted comments, but that is not confirmed as far as I know.

I tend not to delete upvoted comments but did some. I did well more than 10 before getting the hat, so I think the number of upvoted ones triggered it.

All this moving around did change it to a size and angle I like best.
