well that's the thing, they don't actually have to provide any reasoning but they still do. It is more work for them but they reap benefits by getting more good will from their players
the openness when it comes to design and teaching is probably one of the reasons for their longevity I think
was listening to a MaRo drive to work podcast on printing and he mentions that promo cards are often printed way in advance (sometimes over a year). It had me wondering, has WoTC ever had a promo card that was recently banned in the format it is supposed to be promoting?
they usually don't ban a card within the first few months, mainly because it hasn't had a chance to break anything yet. Smuggler's Copter was the fastest I know of: released in September, banned in January, so 4 months.
and promos don't tend to be reprints from earlier sets
@AlexMitan nice. I'm glad you're making progress. That image with the custom dice looks awesome. I definitely want to hear more about the internal topology you're creating re: units and squads.
I went down a different kind of rabbithole this weekend:
you might find the "Mu" (puzzle) entry interesting, if you haven't heard of that game.
*(re: Amsterdam, might need an M entry for that magic plant;)*
