@TheThirdMan @Malco FYI, Scryfall added a new search term to support Spike: is:spikey. One or both of you might like to point to that in your answers.

1 hour later…

@doppelspooker Well that is just cool

@Malco Isn't it!?

hmmmm, cards owned by one player going into another players private zone...
Hope you have sleeves...

Hi, I would like to post a question about makruk, a Thai board game that currently has no tag. I don't have enough reps to create tags and I can't find any more generic tag that I can use instead. What should I do?

Go ahead an write the question and I will swap the tag with a new one for makruk
@ChristopheStrobbe try chess for now

@Malco Thanks. Now I have to wait 40 minutes because I also asked a question on meta. So be patient ;-)

4:48 PM
In general, if there isn't a tag for a question you want to ask, just ask the question and clearly indicate what the tag should be, and someone will edit it

Get your bookmarks ready, Unstable FAQ is out
or "Unstable FAQAWASLFAQPAFTIDAWABIAJTBT" apparently....
interesting: "The creature with augment isn't put onto the battlefield until the ability resolves. This means if the host is destroyed, the creature with augment stays in your hand. You can't choose a different host, but you can activate augment again if there's another host available."

5:24 PM
@Malco i edited that a bit to be more star-friendly

@doppelspooker No problem, thanks
from the FAQ regarding cards you don't own in your private zones (five fingered discount):
Five-Finger Discount allows the card to enter your hand, but after that if it goes to a zone that's owned by anyone other than its owner's, it goes to its owner's corresponding zone. If you would shuffle the card into your library, it gets shuffled into its owner's library instead.
Aha, he also covered the ruling I was hoping regarding time sensitive cards:
> When does the 30 seconds start? How do I keep track?

> The time starts as soon as Gimme Five starts resolving. To track the time, watches and phones work well.

I love this note for Chivalrous Cavalier: "In a multiplayer game, can you compliment any opponent?" / "Yes. You're even allowed to compliment multiple opponents. Not just for this card, by the way, but for life in general."
@Malco nice :)

So I have posted the question, someone added a tag and the tag has a typo :-/

@ChristopheStrobbe fixed!

5:40 PM
Well he did rule the infinite problem...:
> What happens if I have infinite life and then get hit with my opponent's Infinity Elemental?

Once you're at infinite life, your life total effectively can't change. At infinite life and gain 2 life? You're at infinite life. At infinite life and lose 29 life? You're at infinite life. You can pay any amount of life. In fact, if you're at infinite life and get with an opposing Infinity Elemental, you'd still be at infinite life.

Yeah, differently than I expected, but I'm not surprised

@doppelspooker Thanks!

Over My Dead Bodies gets some major clarification: attacking/blocking creatures in your graveyard are (in silver-bordered land) counted as on the battlefield for the purposes of anything else.
> Here's where silver-bordered rules get fun. Over My Dead Bodies allows you to attack or block with creature cards in your graveyard. If you do, for the duration of combat, the attacking and blocking creature cards are treated as if they are creature cards on the battlefield which means they can be affected by spells or abilities that would affect creatures on the battlefield. That means, for example, if you have a Lord of Accursed on the battlefield ("Other Zombies you control get +1/+1"), all your attacking and blocking graveyard creatures (which Over My Dead Bodies makes into Zombies) w

lol: Do you really believe someone doesn't know what a high five is?
I got enough "Hokey Pokey" questions when Unglued came out that I've learned to never assume anything.

6:36 PM
@JonTheMon totally.
there's gonna be a few people who just moved over from Hong Kong or whatever.

7:19 PM
Huh, Half-Pony has already been errata'd:
> When this creature enters the battlefield, you may exile target non-Horse creature you control that wasn't put onto the battlefield with this ability this turn, then return it to the battlefield under its owner's control.

7:32 PM
Oh, that is interesting... I thought Slaying Mantis was like Chaos orb...:
> Can Slaying Mantis be dropped from a height of three feet?
No, it must be thrown, not dropped. That three-foot distance is horizontal, not vertical.
hmmm, Should I edit my answer to the new list of Spike-able cards that was released today? or Post it as a new answer? It's in the FAQ so it is the objectively correct list...

7:48 PM
this is made more complicated by this post (http://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/167776143118/according-to-you-all-former-bans-and-restrictions):

> myheartgoesoontz asked: According to you, all former bans and restrictions should be valid choices for Spike, and Commander is one of the formats to select from. But the "complete" list of cards you shared as being legal for Spike to select doesn't appear to contain any formerly-banned Commander cards, including the recently-unbanned Protean Hulk and Staff of Domination. Oversight?

hmmm, Sword of Dungeons and Dragons triggers on rolling a 20 on a d20. If you have something that always boosts your die roll by 2, do you have to roll an 18 instead?

yes
it checks the value, if the value is 20 then you go again
this also means you can widen the acceptable die rolls if you have something that lets you modify the result
such as snickering squirrel
also multiple snickering squirrels can affect the same die roll, so that expands the acceptable rolls even further

Q: What generic (?) tag to use for games that have no tag?

Christophe StrobbeI would like to post a question about makruk, for which there is currently no tag. After looking through the available tags, there seems to be a problem for users with less than 150 reps who want to ask questions about games for which no tag exists yet. untagged obviously can't be used for this. ...
