Well then I guess it's more like "Joe W really likes to close questions", which is more pointed than I intended.

I would also argue that it is not about closing the question but pointing out that it was already answered by another question. I am not sure why you are acting like a question getting closed as a duplicate is a bad thing. All a duplicate question means is that the question already has an answer and is not a statement in itself about the question.
