Still not sure how it matched cards with no flavor text, their blank text string in their database could be " " rather than "" or null, I tested if they trimmed the ends of the search string, they don't
Some onomatopoetic flavor text? Possible though not sure how to build a search string for that, to say has text but does not contain these characters
OPs stated intention was to get the text as a tattoo, before doppelgreener edited the question, so something like that wouldn't be what they were looking for in this case anyways.
I just realised, since Scryfall expanded regex to cover flavor text (and card name) you can search ft:/*/ with it. Which means: flavor text search, going by regex (because of the slashes), with a regex of * (which means any character at all)
I searched for &block=+![%22Khans%20of%20Tarkir%22]&set=|[%22Khans%20of%20Tarkir%22]|[%22Fate%20Reforged%22]|[%22Dragons%20of%20Tarkir%22]
in addition to the cards that were reprints or reprinted (matched block on the other printing, and set on the khans block printing) I got alot of cards only from fate
@Wizards_Help FYI: Gatherer is not treating Fate Reforged as being part of the Khans of Tarkir block. Search results for "block: khans of tarkir & set: fate reforged" only find 15 cards, the 10 dual-lands and 5 basic lands: http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&set=+[%22Fate%20Reforged%22]&block=+[%22Khans%20of%20Tarkir%22]
No, maybe not, but I have been getting more downvotes in the last two days than I have on everything before that. Like a downvote on my gatherer flavor search and on a question regarding .5 rounding in monopoly
it's just a very recent thing I've been seeing, newer answers I give are getting downvotes
1/2 of my total downvotes have been in the last 3 days, and I am pretty sure at least one of them was in retaliation for some comments on another answer that was unclear.
@Andrew Haven't looked very closely, but was the downvote on your newest answer before or after you fixed it? Seems like there was a problem in the comments. Maybe whoever cast it hasn't come back.
Agreed, and the asker here is a prime example of why what is and isn't on topic should be more clearly outlined, perhaps in more places than one. Not everyone reads certain pages, like the tour. — Andrew1 min ago
@Andrew I don't see any evidence of voting patterns against you. You've only gotten 5 downvotes in the past week. Two were on an answer that you since deleted, and the others appear to be on answers on which people commented giving reasons for downvoting.
@murgatroid99 There was no comments explaining why on the one I deleted. As for the most recent one, all comments that could have lead to a downvote were addressed in my answer's edit at least an hour and a half before the downvote.
Right, comments aren't necessary for votes; I was simply referring to them as evidence that people were voting based on the content of the post
And really, 5 downvotes in a week, with two on the same post (and therefore necessarily by different people) isn't really indicative of a pattern of malicious voting
The other thing is that Downvotes do just happen sometimes, its hard to get into the voters head and figure out why exactly and they are anonymous by design
I am avid player but live in the uk
I had to make my own board
I would like to buy a professionally made set
But I cannot find anyone in the Uk that makes and sells it
Can anyone supply a manufacturer please
(Ps cost from USA is about £70 + £70 postage + £12 import tax )
@Andrew I can't see downvotes in your rep tab on answers that you deleted. Because I only count 6 total.
Uh oh. Alex P. and I both posted on meta at about the same time. I asked the more general question, and he asked the more specific question. I wonder what will happen :P
I want to keep them separate, but I am biased so please tell me what you think. In my opinion Alex's question makes the same mistake that Vaccano's did. It assumes legal questions are on topic. But don't we need to take a step back and first agree that they are on topic, before we start requesting canonicals?
There seems to be some disagreement as to whether legal questions are in fact off topic. The only information I can find on the topic is Card Game Legal Questions are off topic (apparently) can this be added to the of topic FAQ?, which assumes they are off topic and asks that it be written down s...
Playing board games online through various tool is a huge part of modern gaming culture. Some of those tools are first-party implementations of the game by the original creators or a license-holder. A lot of them, however, are third-party works.
It's tricky territory and there are a lot of myths...
Which is a reasonable assumption for Alex to make by the way. Not faulting him. You really should assume something is on topic until proven otherwise, so long as it is about board and card games.
@Jefromi or @murgatroid99 , New user seems to be having some troubles with the site. Really wants to know about Canasta too...

All righty folks, the on-topic page in the help center is pretty wordy, and we can probably make it more useful to users by:
making it shorter
moving the longer details into a canonical "summarize the site scope" meta post
We can also proofread while we're at it.
So let's do that collaborati...
