Q: What's the policy regarding the use of (the Jewish) god's name on the site?

einpoklumI'm a Hebrew speaker, but am not an observant Jew, hence I tend to use the Jewish god's name: when referring to him; when quoting text containing his name. What's the policy on using the express name here on the site, in each of these two contexts? In this answer it says that A digital ...

Q: Bounty progression bug

Dr. ShmuelIn the past I have offered a bounty for my question about Talmudic maps. I started with 500. Recently I offered another bounty [i think it was 50 or 100]. I’d like to offer another bounty, but I am only being offered the choice of 500. However, per regulatory standards the limit of reputation ...

PhD thesis on dupe-closure on Stack Exchange (!) includes two examples from MY:
**Dead fly on hot oily pan**
Fly lands on hot oily pan and duly dies. Kashrut implications of the
pan not the fly :p
**Does a pot that cooked food with a bug in it need to be
kashered afterward?**
If one were cooking a pot of pasta or a soup and later found a bug or
many bugs in the pasta or soup, would the pot need to be re-kashered
after it was thoroughly cleaned?

lexical overlap besides a handful of function words. Source: http://judaism.
**Does one need dry hands before washing?**
I have always noticed people that make sure their hands are perfectly
dry before washing. I.e. washing for eating bread. Why do people do
so? Where does this apparent stringency come from?
**Wash hands before eating or touching bread?**
Is it important to wash one’s hands before eating or is also the preparation of the meal important as well? Should one wash before handling
bread but not make a brachah, or is washing only relevant to right
before one begins to eat their meal?
I haven't read any of these papers yet.
Another paper about analyzing Stack Exchange that apparently mentions Mi Yodeya, according to Google Scholar. Not gonna pay $40 to find out the details.
There seems to be a budding field of scholarly literature fueled by SE data dumps

@IsaacMoses I think you gave me more than you were supposed to for the bounty.

@Alex You're welcome. I was forced to by the mechanics of the bounty system.

@IsaacMoses Oh, thanks.

FTR, I didn't deliberately favor your answer over Josh's. I arbitrarily picked one to bounty first, not realizing the inflation rule. At the end of the day, it's imaginary internet points, so whatever.

For curiosity's sake, would it have worked if you only set one bounty and then split it between two answers, rather than creating two separate bounties?
Or is the splitting something that only happens when it's not manually awarded?

@Alex I had no idea splitting was possible. I'm pretty sure it's not for manual awarding, at least.

Ah, indeed. From the Meta FAQ:
Can I affect / divide / share part of my bounty to two (or more) users?
No. If you feel that multiple answers deserve a bounty, start and award multiple bounties, one for each answer.

If multiple answers to a single question have earned bounties, it's because the question has been subject to multiple bounties.*
