Q: Chat badges on meta.J.SE

Double AAIs it possible to get the chat badges (talkative and outspoken) on meta.J.SE? If chat is site independent, how are the badges different for each site? Can meta.J.SE have its own chat rooms or are they by default categorized under the parent site?

Q: Can't remember the name of a mussar sefer

MeirI'm trying to remember the name of a sefer that I learnt with someone a couple of times a while ago. It was written by a chasidic rebbe, but isn't just popular amongst chasidim. We were learning a chapter about the importance of middot. The rebbe wrote other sefarim with the same name that were a...

Q: Which Hasidic rabbi has no beard, and what is the story?

Seth JThere is a famous Hasidic rabbi who has no facial hair, and I seem to recall that there is a famous story as to why. But I can remember neither which rabbi (or of which sect), nor the story. I do not even know if he is/was "the" Rebbe of his sect. Can someone please post information? I cannot pr...

Q: Which rabbi was it who checked a person's identity by asking where he sat in shul?

ShalomThe story goes something like ... A few days after his wedding, a man disappeared without a trace. Many years later, a mysterious man showed up back in town, claiming to be him. He looked different, but he revealed to "his" wife all sorts of private details that presumably only her husband ...

Q: Change or choose Hebrew font?

Michael SandlerI don't really like the font in which Hebrew is displayed on our site. Can I petition for it to be changed? Or is there some way to change it for me only on my browser?

@Jin can you ping me? re:

A: Your New Beta Theme

NaftaliCan we choose a lighter shade of red (or another color in general) for char responses: That red seems too bright against the light background.

@neal hows this?
it's a duller red now

@HodofHod ehhh still too pink, no?

Jin
@Neal PING

@Jin hmmmm

Jin
@Neal the idea is to have it noticeable. i picked a red tone because it's for "currently selected" or "unread" on the main site
so i wanted to keep the color scheme somewhat consistent
but i do agree the previous red in chat was too much

6:02 PM
@Neal Personally, yes. I rather liked the older color (greenish, I believe). Nevertheless, this works fine for me

@Jin hmmm but isnt that one of the reasons why red was not chosen for the new bounty color?

Jin
@Neal right. red is also for rep loss on the rep profile.

@Jin so why should red be for a ping?

Jin
@Neal we use red for alerts too.

@Jin ehhhh i guess..

btw i'm deleting feedback answers as they're completed. don't be alarmed!
just trying to keep the outstanding issues tidy.
thank you for the feedback so far.

@Jin no way to mark as done or something?

@Jin maybe put that as a comment on the question?

for historical purposes?

Jin
@RebeccaChernoff i can do that. you want to undelete then? it's just on meta.so, when we have a feedback post like this, the devs typically delete resolved issues

@Jin :-\

6:08 PM
I meant putting a comment on the question "as issues are resolved, the answer will be deleted to keep this page clean with the outstanding issues", that way anyone who happens to not see your chat message can still have a clue

this is where something like meta.judaism.stackexchange.com/questions/632/… would come in handy

@HodofHod Meh, don't see that. By keeping around old stuff, you increase the noise in a signal to noise ratio. Keep the site clean. What value do these posts have in a month? In a year? Etc. If you want to see the historical record, you earn the rep to see deleted stuff.

@RebeccaChernoff hmm, I realize my request isn't very clear on one of its main reasons for existence
I think that accepted or implemented posts should be either hidden or collapsed by default, so that it's there for historical purposes (I find historical posts on meta.SO very enlightening) but not obtrusive
@RebeccaChernoff as it is now, any user with the rep to see deleted things does see all that noise.

7:16 PM
@HodofHod what is that 5771 under your name?

@ShmuelBrill 5711 actually. Its the year of kabolas hanesius, what do you think ;-)
@ShmuelBrill Its the combined rep from all the sites I'm on in the SE network

7:59 PM
Congrats to Shalom, who just got our first gold badge in a tag!
