Was MY down for a few hours last night?

@Scimonster I was wondering that too. Even for a Friday, that's low activity for (US) overnight. The site was very sluggish for me this morning around 8:30 with pages sometimes not loading, but seems to be ok now. StackStatus didn't tweet anything and I don't know yet if this happened on other sites.
The MSE front page usually doesn't show timestamps of "yesterday"; I don't have a strong sense of timing patterns there, but they seem to have had fewer posts last night too. Workspace seems to be light too, though it's harder to judge there. That concludes my survey of sites with enough volume to have a pattern that I pay enough attention to to notice.

Looks to me like what we have here is someone with a frum background (see, e.g. familiar mentions of Eichlers and Chabad) who has had casual exposure to some source[s] of challenge to Judaism's authenticity and is looking to Mi Yodeya for Judaism's responses.

There was a time where it seemed like we barely even needed to talk about this: Joel had won the argument, the Internet agreed that private offices were the future, and only incompetent management (or a tight budget) was still putting developers in cubicle farms. A glorious future lay before us.

The original Fog Creek Bionic Office, way back in ye olde 2003. We didn’t have iPhones, but at least the offices had doors.

Unfortunately, that’s not quite how it turned out. Open plans have been surprisingly hard to kill, despite research showing that they’re unpopular, decrease employee satisfact …
