@msh210 I, for one, edit most questions of my own to at least be in question form, which increases the likelihood that it will start with "wh" (who, what, when, where, why).

2:24 PM
@DoubleAA Yeah. I asked my LOR years ago, and listen to a cappella during s'fira. (Logically, it makes sense to me, too: there's no restriction with old sources on music, so the only restriction is what people have accepted, and people (likely) never accepted a restriction on a cappella.)
@DoubleAA Oh, good to know. Thanks.
Oh, but:
@DoubleAA Absolutely, good point. It works now. — balpha yesterday

@msh210 You haven't explained why my computer's speakers are not musical instruments.

Q: Why is the accept ratio not displayed anymore?

DanielWhy does the percentage of questions for which a user has accepted an answer not appear anymore? Is there a way to see this information?

Q: Giveaways for some, fees for everyone else

Seth JIf someone provides a discount for early payment, and raises the price for others, there is reason to consider this as forbidden usury. What if someone is giving away a gift to some as an incentive, and charging for it for everyone else? The case that brought me to wonder is a local synagogue of...

@SethJ :-)
@SethJ I still don't get it:
@SethJ, are you asking only about cases in which time is relevant? That wasn't clear. (To me. Maybe I'm just slow.) Perhaps edit to clarify? — msh210 12 mins ago
...and if you're not only asking about that, then your addition about the bakery seems to be an example of your question rather than something to say "Is this any different from" about. No?

4:36 PM
@msh210 How about now?

^ (I did not get that ping. FWIW.)
@SethJ Much clearer. Thanks! (And +1.) I'll clear the comments, okay?

@msh210 ok
@msh210 weird

@msh210 ... Nor do I see it in my drop-down thingy (atop each page on SE) or at stackexchange.com/users/265579/msh210?tab=inbox . I think this keeps happening with chat pings. (Note that I wasn't in the room when SethJ pinged me.)

4:54 PM
@msh210 oh, I have a theory then. If you "left" the room by closing the tab, as opposed to explicitly leaving, then SE thinks you're still in the room for some period of time and doesn't inbox-ping you. The theory is that they don't want to send you notices for things you're probably already aware of. There is some timeout (I just got a notification for a room that I'm in but hadn't been to in half an hour or so), but I don't know what it is. The answer might be somewhere on MSO.

@MonicaCellio No, I had explicitly left.

5:18 PM
@MonicaCellio Well, I had explicitly clicked "leave". Was I still showing as here? (That's another thing that keeps happening.)

5:35 PM
@msh210 hmm, I don't know -- didn't notice before. I'm here now; want to explicitly leave for a couple minutes?
Oh, you just did.
@msh210 here is a test ping approximately a minute after I saw your icon leave the room.

5:55 PM
@msh210 and here is a test ping about 20 minuts after you left.

6:05 PM
@MonicaCellio I got all three.
I never said it was consistent.

@msh210 yeah, I just figured since I was here I'd try to generate some data for you. shrug

@MonicaCellio Yeah. Thanks.

Pretty. :-)
(And ok, I can send stuff to imgur, but I can't see it. O....kay.)

Good Shabas, y'all.

@msh210 and to you!

Q: Leave a chat room, but not really

msh210Click "leave" in a chat room; you'll still be listed as in it on the list of users that appears for that room in the list of rooms that appears after you click "leave". This is true even if you reload that page after a minute. NOTE: This is not reproducible at the moment: it occurs sometimes, bu...
