@IsaacMoses how finalized is the current welcome message in the new user greeting sidebar box?
"Shalom!

@Jin I, for one, am happy with it.

Jin
@IsaacMoses okie. just checking.

@Jin ... and I'm not aware of any controversy over it on our meta, so I think the community's probably fine with it as well.

Jin
@IsaacMoses sure. it looks good to me. I was just checking if you planned to change the wording of it after graduation. there may be some design elements in the welcome box

@Jin Thanks for checking. There are no such plans.

Q: Working with Conservative Jews

SeanI am working this summer on a Conservative summer program as a staff member. I discussed with the employer issues of me being orthodox (such as egalitarian davening) and we worked out a lot of these problems. Are there any other issues that I should be concerned with? How should I deal with them?

@msh210 "It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form."? Anyone? (Pinging @DoubleAA just because you're in the room.)

@msh210 I'm fine with closing it if that's what you are asking. I just thought we should give him a chance to adjust it.
@msh210 Actually, search the site for 'issues'. We seem to have a bunch of questions asking what issues could arise in a certain situation.

Q: Halakhic International Date Line issues

SamAccording to halakha, where is the international date line? More specifically, I have heard that some people say you should observe Shabbat on Sunday in Japan & New Zealand and/or on Friday in Hawaii. Should I worry about this if I go to these places? Also, what if I am on an eastward nons...

@DoubleAA What I sometimes do is comment along the lines of "I'm closing this for now pending edits, please ping me to repoen when you've made them.".

Q: Are there any halachic issues with cut flowers grown in Israel?

ShalomProduce grown in Israel is subject to many additional agricultural laws (shemita, terumah, maaser, etc.). Thus occasionally there are alerts about bell peppers, etc. for sale in American supermarkets which are product of Israel and have special halachot regarding how they should be treated. Occa...

Q: Issues with cooking meat and milk at the same time

Seth JWhat issues are there (either potential or inherent) in cooking meat dishes and milk dishes at the same time on the same stovetop (not in the same pot)? Please also compare benefits and problems between: * A gas range * A spiral electric cooktop * A glass electric cooktop

etc.
That may mean we should close all of them. I don't know.

@DoubleAA Good point. I've always thought any such question should indicate why the asker thinks there may be issues. In any event, this question (about camp) is I think even more ambiguous than the others in that it doesn't include any details about the camp. E.g., do they go on long walks on Shabas? Then he'll need to bring up eruve t'chumin. Etc., etc. Without details of how the camp is run, it's hard to answer. Cooking meat and milk on a stove, OTOH, is general: people know how it works.
@msh210 I'm commenting to that effect on the question now.
@DoubleAA Closed.
