Hey, @Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2, I've noticed you already do quite a bit on this site for it's improvement. How do you envision your role on the site being even more useful than it is now by being elected?
@anonymous2 - To be honest? I don't. I am just such an advocate of the site, I would be remiss if I didn't throw my hat into the ring.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Okay, gotcha.
To be honest, I would have been shocked to not see you running.
I've thought about what you're asking a lot since graduation.
And realistically, I wonder if I wont' have to take a "sort of" step back a little.
From the election?
No, not the election, but from what I do and how I handle things on the site.
Or maybe that's what you mean.
23:49
You mean if you're not elected?
Because you already have a "non-official" moderator role?
@anonymous2 - Nah. I mean if I'm elected, I may have to take a lesser role in the review queues and such than what I've done in the past.
I see.
Say, on a different tack, what are the pros and cons of a low-rep (new user) like me running, as you see it?
Not that I'm seriously considering, it has just crossed my mind briefly.
@anonymous2 - I encourage it. Everyone has something to bring to the table.
@anonymous2 - Please do try. If for no other reason than for the experience of it.
I had tried (and died) on Movies.SE to get elected. I wasn't dead last, but I didn't make the cut, either.
I enjoyed the process and learned a lot from it.
Sure. And being the SE system of voting, the votes aren't totally lost on losing candidates, either.
Yah, I'm not overly sure I understand their system of voting ... it's a little crazy, lol.

It's pretty cool once you really understand what's going on behind it. But (for people like me) it takes several hours of intense studying. :)
I followed the Ask Ubuntu elections very closely this year, and since then I've kind of toyed with the idea of running on a smaller site just for the experience of it, but I'm not 100% sure yet.
I'd highly encourage you to do so. I think you have as much right and as much ability as anyone else on this SE to run.
@anonymous2 I think you should run simply for the experience of going through the process. Much like @Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 did on movies. I think your a future mod, you seem to have the right mindset and your participation in SE is obviously notable. Your participating in quite a few sites and although you don't have a million rep on a particular site you have some really strong accumulated knowledge.
Woah, now, that's high recommendation, lol. I'm afraid that's a little far-fetched, though, unfortunately.
Anyhow, I will consider it
Are you planning on nominating, @DucatiKiller?
@anonymous2 - He better be!
2
@anonymous2 and @Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 I don't think I would be able to give the community the time it deserves. Sadly, I don't think I would be successful regarding a commitment. TY for saying so though. Really, means a lot to hear that.
23:58
@DucatiKiller Awww, you're kidding me.
@DucatiKiller - Slacker.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 I know! Right?
@anonymous2 If I felt confident of my commitment I would be all in. Would love to mod if the community elected me.
You should read what @RoryAlsop stated then. He believes if all three Mods are doing their job of 1/2 hour a day, it shouldn't be an issue. I'd tend to agree with him.
