This is only for testing UI, so the search index is rather small (~6 K posts). I am hoping someone who has free time can check it out on your mobile phone and send me feedback.
@WeiZhong: One quick observation: When I enter the $ in the raw input field then a second (closing) $ is automatically inserted, so that I have to move the cursor position back in order to enter a formula. That is a bit cumbersome on an iPhone where you don't have left/right cursor keys. Would it be possible to add the trailing $ without changing the cursor position?
@WeiZhong: In the search results page, the header which is pinned to the top takes about half the screen on my 4,7" iPhone, or even more if there are many search terms. That means that not much space is left to display the search results.
@MartinR That is also true. I tried to squeeze the space, but it involved difficult trade-offs. I may try to remove dark/light mode toggle bar and the logo to make a little room later. But the complicated content, chips, raw query bars that math search interface has to interact with is more than what I can handle in that screen size.
I also feel the same pain in my mobile device, that's why I choose to make the "top bar" transparent, I think that helps a lot, but as you said, it may still feel cumbersome in that small space.
Hi, looks great. Tried on my android phone, noticed that when I enter a formula, then go out of edit and want to edit it again, it does not allow me (it looks like it is jumping to edit mode - keyboard appers for very short moment, then it immediately jumps out of it again)
it happens in both, the main edit box as well as enter raw query box
the initial/first edit after loading the page works though, so only subsequent edits do this
I myself also use Android+Chrome. If you have a screen recorder in your Android, that would be great. I am not sure what it looks like so I do not have any sense how should I fix it. But anyway, thanks for taking your time, I think I may have to go to sleep now. I will look into it later.
Leave all your feedback here, I will get back then.
@MartinR Good idea actually, I think it would be better to have a button to toggle whether or not to stick to the top.
I make it sticky because I feel sometimes I want to compare the results with what I have input in the query box.
