@nigel222 I recall hearing about drop bears in the 80s.
An interesting fact, Koala Bears do indeed drop from trees. When they are chased (such as when a young or female koala is being pursued & threatened by a male koala) they'll climb the tree and out onto a branch. If cornered, they have been known to drop great distances. It's not good for them, but they mostly survive the fall.
