@Dennis regarding kona: if you're willing to apply a temp patch before the developer fixes it in the repo - changing this line to I o = 1; fixes the problem with the display of results

@ngn So this is a bug? I assumed it was intended non-REPL behavior and there was some kind of print function. That's what J does, I think.

@Dennis there's some history behind it. initially it was intentional, because assignments (e.g. var:123 or func:{x+2*y}) in k-scripts (loaded with \l file.k) used to print the assigned value and that was annoying. later they fixed the behaviour of assignments but the output-suppressing logic remained
