Hey @Dennis, could you pull Charm? It has a new build req now, libgmp

@Dennis Could you please pull Attache? Mostly a D2 update, but also some attache

@Aearnus Done.

thank you!

@ConorO'Brien Done.
@ASCII-only How temporary is the switch to the feature-classes branch? I wonder if I should commit it to tiosetup.

@Dennis Nick Clifford is going to be busy for a while so it seems like it may be for another few weeks still

3:18 AM
@Dennis thanks!

@ASCII-only Alright, committed.

thanks
also hmm i never knew the current Whirl "Hello, World!" was so suboptimal

You should post that on main.

yeah that's what I'm planning :P

3:21 AM
Can I use it on TIO?

Yeah

:)
Any chance to golf the 250 kB languages.json is welcome. ;)

Note: I did this the stupid way (like Martin did with Stack Cats) so it's probably still really suboptimal. In this case I'm only doing anything with the math wheel - I wonder if using loops or something would be shorter

That leaves 10 languages that do not print Hello, World!.
asperix
black
i
incident
sisal
snails
spl
tampio
trumpscript
woefully
I think only incident, spl, and woefully are fixable.

Wait
Hmm, SPL should have Hello, World! already

3:35 AM
There is one on PPCG, but it's not at all idiomatic.

black, I, SISAL, tampio, Snails and TrumpScript are dedfinitely not fixable
@Dennis Idiomatic?

Heavily golfed Shakespeare doesn't look like Shakespeare, which kinda defeats the purpose.

I tried to read what Incident is about, but it makes my head hurt.

yeah same lol
> trying to figure out how to write anything at all in the language is decidedly nontrivial, although once you know the tricks the language is viably possible to write by hand
@ais523 help we can't figure out how do progam in incident
asperix isn't fixable either. rip

3:46 AM
The textarea is probably to narrow for a tutorial. :P

This may help. Or may do the complete opposite.
On a side note, Charcoal finally has a use: Woefully programs :P
:/ woefully only has subtract and product though

4:04 AM
SPL is done.

4:21 AM

Good thing your browser gets the file gzipped.

4:40 AM
yes :|

5:22 AM
@ASCII-only I mean, it could be fixed by modifying the interpreter some more. Dennis already forked it to add the -quiet flag. Stock asperix would print:
############### Answer set 1 ###############
"Hello, World!"

@Pavel :P

10 hours later…
3:19 PM
@Dennis and, btw, well well well
yes that should say "Hello, World!", not "@"

Feel free to fix it.

admits yeah, I know :/
but I think that the "Hello World" button should be removed in the meanwhile

I can't tell if you're kidding.

Why would I remove the Hello World button?

3:23 PM
wait, can you remove it from an individual language or it will be removed from all languages?
IIRC some languages don't have that button

There's currently no option to remove the button on a per-language basis.

ah, I thought it was added on a per-language basis

And I don't think there should be. Even if the output isn't Hello, World!, the example is still useful.
Maybe a "short fixed string" button would describe the functionality more accurately, but Hello World is catchier.

well, tbf a "Hello World" program is basically one of the programs that will be the first a beginner in a language will most probably write

5 hours later…
8:32 PM
@Dennis Can you pull Whispers 2 please?

1 hour later…
9:41 PM
@cairdcoinheringaahing Done.
