@Dennis Can you install entrian.com/goto ?

It totally works even though it is a joke.

If I wanted to submit my language to TIO, is there any restriction on what the "parent" language needs to be? If I wrote language in JS, can I submit it? How can I use the "arguments" fields?

@quartata Given it was intended for 2.3 and never updated, it will probably not work with Py3.

1:18 PM
@Soaku It would have to work with either Node.js or Spidermonkey. In particular, it would have to work without a DOM. In Node, you can access command-line arguments with process.argv.
@Adnan Done.

@Soaku yeah, there are a bunch of node languages there (mostly conor's/ngn's IIRC)

Also ETH's and Downgoat's.

Just curious, why does tio.run work, but www.tio.run doesn't?
Is the Internet moving away from the preceding www?

Q: Remove WWW prefix from your website

RobHow does Stack Overflow (and other web sites) remove the 'www' prefix when it's entered as part of a URL? Is it a redirect, a rewrite or something else entirely? Update: I'd specifically like to know in the context of IIS 6

There's nothing special about the www subdomain. Unless you set it up, it won't work. I didn't.

TIL.

TIL too
I always thought www was some kind of specialcase

nope
just a convention

2:02 PM
@Dennis could you pull Cauliflower

Technically, I can only pull Broccoli. :P
@ASCII-only Done.

2:45 PM
@Pavel Not that happy with 2.7 either.
Although it does seem to work if you ignore the exceptions.

I tried it a while back with 2.5
Oh well

2:58 PM
@Dennis Thanks!

Doesn't work in a REPL. You need a file.

I used a heredoc
Unfortunatly it still didn't work

3:02 PM
That's still a REPL. Sort of.
We should fix this and upload it to PyPI. The world needs goto.

Seems to work (with a file) without any exceptions.

What did you try? I get errors for the first two examples.
Exception TypeError: "argument of type 'NoneType' is not iterable" in <function _remove at 0x7f282b7d26e0> ignored

I tried a different thing, that does happen with the examples, yeah.
I will try to fix it and make it py3 compatible

Here wait let me give it a go, I've got an idea

Kk
@Dennis I really wish it gave a stack trace so I could tell where it was being thrown from

3:10 PM
This seems to work by preprocessing the file. I can do better than that

@quartata Oh are you just gonna reimplement it from scratch

Woops, nevermind, someone already did exactly what I was going to do:

@quartata I still think we can do better, we shouldn't need decorators.
