@Dennis I know why that happens, I need to push the compiles version of the tokens, but I don’t have access to the tools right now to fix that.

@ATaco No rush. I'm just running the setup since I'm planning to upgrade the servers.

12:26 AM
@Dennis Upgrade how?
@Dennis The link on aliases at github.com/TryItOnline/TioSetup/wiki/Powershell is a 404

1:03 AM
@Dennis patched

@ATaco Thanks!
@Pavel Yeah, that file doesn't exist anymore.
@Pavel Hardware and OS.

1:32 AM
so Fedora 27?

If I can manage to get rid of the errors, yes.

You'd think they'd have figured out how to make upgrading a smoother process by now

Who's they?

@Dennis Red hat

Red Hat is responsible for a tiny fractions of the problems I'm having.

1:43 AM
So it isn't just Fireball that's mysteriously gone missing since the last time you had to setup TIO?

There's a copr repo that doesn't exist for Fedora 27, the directory structure of Mathics changed, Django no longer supports Python 2.7, and npm blatantly refuses to install Reason.

Why do you need Django

Mathics

@Pavel don't talk smack about RedHat
@Dennis but.... why?
Does it actually ever import it in normal operation on TIO

Beats me.
It fails to run if Django isn't installed. ImportError iirc.

1:47 AM
@quartata Hey, I use Fedora too. I just wish we had a rolling release model.

@Dennis I already hate my own creation

Fedora is as close as RedHat gets to rolling release

@Pavel That just means things break all the time instead of once every 9 months.

go use Gentoo if you need that

@Dennis I'm pretty sure Mathics can run under Python 3.

1:50 AM
Already solved.

Then Django doesn't need to touch 2.7, right?

@Christopher2EZ4RTZ Is this about Hello World?

@Dennis bingo

@Pavel I'm installing an earlier version of Django.

To get hello world up and running i am going to give a 50 rep bounty to the first person to find a hello world

1:52 AM
stop using python 2
just stappit

@quartata I used to use OpenSUSE Tumblweed, it didn't break more often than my Fedora install does. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Althouh I do remember Mathics havig weird Py3 issues

I just pip3 install mathics and it seems to be working ok
At the very least, Hello World functions

The version from pip doesn't work with the sandbox.

It's also out of date, I just remembered.
Welp, npm can't install reason for me either. I get permission errors, which shouldn't be a thing when running with sudo..?

1:59 AM
It's a known issue, and I think I have a fix for it.

2:27 AM
@Dennis Could you please pull Attache?
actually wait I broke something one sec
ok its unbroken now

@ConorO'Brien Done.

2:59 AM
Have there been any attempts to add Curry to TIO?

I can't figure this out. Crystal, C# Core, F# Core, PowerShell (Core), and Visual Basic Core are all failing with out of memory exceptions. Which doesn't make sense. There's more memory now.

strange

@HeebyJeebyMan Yes.

dennis i think pain-flak is ready for the world
I have no idea if the world is ready mind you

@HeebyJeebyMan There's 3 Curry compilers we know of, and they all don't work on TIO.

3:01 AM
oh that's stange. Thanks for trying

@Christopher2EZ4RTZ Currently in the middle of something. I'll add it asap.

@Dennis Thanks for the update! If you have any problem just ping me and I will get back to you tomorrow.

3:36 AM
@Dennis Thank you!

3:48 AM
@Dennis Fixed.

4:04 AM
@Dennis by the way, I hope you already liquidated any cryptocurrency donations you got

I haven't. Didn't realize it fell that much.

4:51 AM
@luserdroog I'm having problems compiling the latest version of xpost.
src/lib/xpost_compat.c: In function ‘xpost_module_path_get’:
src/lib/xpost_compat.c:508:9: error: implicit declaration of function ‘XPOST_LOG_ERR’; did you mean ‘XPOST_COMPAT_H’? [-Wimplicit-function-declaration]
         XPOST_LOG_ERR("sizeof uintptr_t != sizeof (int (*)())");
         ^~~~~~~~~~~~~
         XPOST_COMPAT_H
make[1]: *** [Makefile:1279: src/lib/src_lib_libxpost_la-xpost_compat.lo] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory '/opt/postscript-xpost/build'
make: *** [Makefile:863: all] Error 2

oh dearie.
It appears you're on a system where a function pointer is not the same size as a void*.
It's my fault that that manifests as a compile error. At the same time, code shouldn't be trying to call a macro without including the header. A little clusterbug.
I think I can push a hot fix but I need a minute to figure out which local repo corresponds to the github. ... I've been working with another programmer who doesn't use VCS but keeps multiple copies in a numbered sequence of directories. I've gotten backlogged in committing and pushing.
What that means is I should have a nicer, more readable version pushed soon, in the next week or so.
Oh, btw. I think you can still get "graphics" of a sort from whatever version successfully compiles. showpage with the default device sends the output to stdout as an ascii PGM file 792x612. I haven't tried it with tio though. It's a little scary from the terminal.

@luserdroog OK, no rush. For now, I've pinned xpost to the latest commit that compiles on TIO.
@fergusq I'm having trouble with the latest version of Tampio.
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/opt/tampio/tampio.py", line 22, in <module>
    from grammar import initializeParser, parseDeclaration
  File "/opt/tampio/grammar.py", line 23, in <module>
    from ast import *
  File "/opt/tampio/ast.py", line 21, in <module>
    from hierarchy import Class
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'hierarchy'
If there's a hierachy.py in the repo, I can't find it.
Also, the old Hello World (tulos on Hello) doesn't seem to work anymore.

2 hours later…
6:24 PM
@Dennis can you pull Pyt?

@mudkip201 Done.

1 hour later…
7:49 PM
@Dennis Thanks
