@rand - from your past experience, do you know if moderators are able to delete the "audit" messages from chat rooms, of the form "1 message moved from/to"...?
I experimented with moving, on the new room I created, without realizing that now the pristine new room will be marred by useless audit lines I as RO can't delete :)
@DVK-in-exile You can't delete them? Not even within the 2-minute time limit?
That's odd, because those messages show up as being posted by you.
Wait a sec, I'll do some Science :-)
@Randal'Thor Yes one of them I explicitly tried to delete within 2 minutes window
@Randal'Thor It has a "delete" link, but posts an error banner to the effect of "audit messages cannot be deleted"
The proper ontopic wording is "I'm gonna science the &^*t out of this"
"Rand al'Thor has invited you to join Trash" - NOT the most elegant templated message ever composed by chat software :))))
@DVK-in-exile Huh. I was about to suggest posting a report, but sounds like it's .
@Randal'Thor It most certainly is. I can sort of see the reason for that feature (to prevent people from hiding unsavory moves), thinking as a programmer
Anyway, yes, as a mod I can move (and presumably also delete) even "n messages moved from/to ..." messages. Sorry about the auto-invite to Trash :-)

@Randal'Thor Wait, you did NOT send the invite? Cool! New feature discovered! But what triggered that? The move? Or that you're a mod?
WERID SCIENCE!!!
<--- I am Him who must not be spelled, the destroyer of worlds spelling
@DVK-in-exile Moving someone else's message to a room they aren't in automatically 'invites' them to that room.
Which of course means lots of unnecessary invites to Trash.
@Randal'Thor Gotcha. This is my first experience with move as either mover or movee. Just the novelity is worth all the work of creating new room :)
E.g. see here:

A: A guide to moderating chat

bluefeetWhat tools are available to room owners? Room owners are users that have some elevated permissions in a chatroom. Typically, they will be the first line of defense when it comes to inappropriate content or behavior in a room. Users will look to the room owners to guide the room. The room owners...
