Ohh, formulas

@mickep very nicely justified, must be using context.

@DavidCarlisle You bet. It is very configurable.

@DavidCarlisle Feature request for the next version of your famous typewriter package: demilked.com/typewriter-art-james-cook :)

@DavidCarlisle True art!

@DavidCarlisle I assume I can remove code from hyperref, that only affect amstex.sty and only works if one explicitly use the pdftex option?

1:58 PM
@UlrikeFischer amstex, really, not even amsmath? yes lose it

@DavidCarlisle A search in ctan found only amstex.sty using \@seteqlabel. It's gone now.

yo'

It seems that gentium-tug fonts have display issues with Acrobat :(

@yo' do you have an example? A simple lipsum works fine here.

yo'
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{gentium}

\begin{document}
\huge\bfseries Hello, World!
\end{document}
happens in Overleaf's pdf.js and in Acrobat, but it seems fine in many other viewers. It also goes away when you zoom in.

@yo' interesting ;-).

yo'
@UlrikeFischer yeah, I wonder what's gone wrong and where, and whom to best report this :-) (it came from a user obviously, and switching to lualatex with \setmainfont{Gentium Plus} does the trick)

3:52 PM
Are there any advantages/disadvantages of using tocloft vs float for new lists? Especially when using titlesec I'd prefer to use titletoc for contents lists, but for new lists I've always liked tocloft but that's not a good plan to combine with titletoc I think.

@yo' It looks like the glyphs are self-intersecting.

4:13 PM
@DavidCarlisle I first read your comment "who is he?....." as if it was from OP...
@DavidCarlisle Haha, now you got an answer!!! :)))

2 hours later…
6:20 PM
@mickep phew that clears up that unknown

@DavidCarlisle Yes, but in this context(pun...) it would perhaps have been more natural/fun to refer to DEK as the creator of Metafont, and maybe one of the first users (?) of MetaPost.

@nicola-talbot Just in case you're here, might I kindly drive your attention to tex.stackexchange.com/questions/674229 ?

@AlbertNash if the name does not auto-complete on @ then no ping will be sent

@DavidCarlisle For a reason unknown to me, Nicola's name and username don't autocomplete.

@AlbertNash I know,that is expected, you can only ping people who have been here in the last few days, unless you are a site moderator with extra powers

8:03 PM
@AlbertNash your example is way to long.

8:18 PM
@UlrikeFischer No. It's long for a reason. The examples demonstrates various spacing issues connected to the mathrelation category of glossaries-extra. You can easily solve each single issue at a time but the cost would be a problem or a nuisance arising elsewhere. So the issues have to be considered together.

8:29 PM
@UlrikeFischer Moreover, provocatively put, the question is: What's the point of having a mathrelation type if this causes only headache?

@AlbertNash it is too long to get help, at least from me. If I can already see that I will have to invest half an hour to understand the problem and to reduce the code to something one can debug I simply quit. Don't forget that the people here help for free, so don't expect an all-round support.

@UlrikeFischer Fair enough. The question is directed primarily to Nicola anyway (I failed to register at her site for technical reasons, and she knows this). Still, if anyone else feels like wishing to provide an answer, I won't object, naturally.
