@yo' Ha, very nice!

3 hours later…
8:11 AM
Does \regex_split:nnN not allow for precompiled regexes?
Oh, I see, I should use \regex_split:NnN then ...
I was confused, because I also use a cases construction where you always should use braces ... nevermind!

4 hours later…
12:28 PM
has anyone got a pre 2004 latex available?

1:04 PM
@DavidCarlisle for what?

@DavidCarlisle hm according to i.stack.imgur.com/O5oU5.jpg I must have at least on earlier but I don't know if it is still readable ...

@UlrikeFischer oh I've probably got them somewhere as well (and somewhere I have a usb disk reader although I have not seen it for years:-) I always thought they were coffee mug mats that tug sent me every year

1:45 PM
@DavidCarlisle i will not admit how long it took me to get \ss was not for sans serif...

@mickep Wir Deutschsprachige brauchen eine Beta

2:01 PM
@DavidCarlisle ohh

5 hours later…
6:51 PM
@DavidCarlisle We even have a capital one now (although some purists consider its use a "capital" crime)

@JasperHabicht so slow, The Greeks have had one for centuries:-)

@DavidCarlisle ßut for them, it is crucial. We Germans can always sußstitute ...

@JasperHabicht having mastered betas, perhaps you'll learn to put spaces between words next?

@DavidCarlisle Oh no! We'd rather hyphenate. Doesn't Donald-E.-Knuth-Straße look just great (in fact, I think, it does not ... but, well ...)

7:38 PM
@JosephWright can you see what's wrong with the gh actions? I forced the caches to rebuild from a different mirror (I thought) but the texlive install is still broken (no kpsewhich, no l3build, ....)

1 hour later…
9:07 PM
@DavidCarlisle Pass :(

9:19 PM
@JosephWright just looked in the logs of a re-run just now it's used a different texlive repository URL and still says the update texlive step succeeded then everything else fails as l3build not found

@DavidCarlisle Repo?

@DavidCarlisle There's an error in the cache loading

@JosephWright ah yes I saw that earlier today as well. I think I confused mysef, but have tried deleting cache and als run the "manualy update cache" pipeline but....

@DavidCarlisle Give me a moment

9:26 PM
why does github show a tick not a red cross for this unless you open out the view?

@DavidCarlisle That I don't know

I saw this earlier but on re-reading jumped straight to the first step marked with a cross :(

@DavidCarlisle Defo need the cache business fixing - but I've no idea why that is failing

@JosephWright as I say I deleted the cache but it rebuilt with the same issue so I'm a bit stumped

@DavidCarlisle Yes, I think because the 2e workflow is in lots of bits, and each uses a cache: something simple like siunitx would be OK because it doesn't try to load a cache on first run. One for @MarcelKrüger: I see various commits yesterday to the workflow

9:32 PM
@JosephWright I did mail team list

@DavidCarlisle I think not much we can do until Marcel looks, really

@JosephWright OK, thanks for looking, happy to know I didn't miss anything obvious. I'm sure my commits are perfect and don't need testing anyway
