@UlrikeFischer LuaHBTeX Windows binaries are now available on ftp.cc.uoc.gr/mirrors/CTAN/systems/win32/w32tex and ftp.cc.uoc.gr/mirrors/CTAN/systems/win32/w32tex/win64

@KhaledHosny I'll be trying out over Christmas

@CarLaTeX you are rude with the old members hehe

@manooooh I don't think so, I said "please"

@CarLaTeX worse, you keep the discussion when you propose yourself stop debating

@manooooh That was not a discussion, that was an explanation

@CarLaTeX an explanation to a 5-years-old member?

7:38 AM
@manooooh S/He needed it

@CarLaTeX (he for sure) okay I will admit that you were not rude at all, since that type of behavior should lead to more drastic measures, such as the direct closure of the question, etc.

@manooooh I voted to leave open

@CarLaTeX why

@manooooh Because eventually he added an MWE

@CarLaTeX hm
@CarLaTeX I did not think about that, good point girl
Wanna play Pinturillo?

7:44 AM
@manooooh Wait, I have to give a couple of answers before

@CarLaTeX you are a good person, oki doki

@manooooh I am good, it's Xmas ahahahah

All I want for Christmas is YOUUOIOUUUUOUOOOU 🎅🎅

8:14 AM
@manooooh I would like also Colin Firth or Pierce Brosnan
2

@CarLaTeX oh nice

@manooooh :)

8:34 AM
@CarLaTeX @PauloCereda @egreg did you ever listen and feel comfortable with the next song?:
I discovered that song thanks to a small monologue from Argentina that consisted of singing some famous songs from Argentina and sometimes from abroad like Luci Dalla hahaha. I liked it too much because of the humor she puts on it:

@manooooh Lucio Dalla was one of the biggest pop singer in Italy, I like his songs

@CarLaTeX :DDDD
@CarLaTeX that "Poum" "Poum" "Poum" is very addictive

@manooooh Yay!

@CarLaTeX is it true that "Attenti al lupo" mean "beware of cheating!" in Italy? Because Google Translate gave "Beware of the Wolf" o.O

@manooooh Literally means beware of the wolf, but figurative has various meanings
@manooooh "beware of cheating" is because of the tale of the boy that always shout "beware of the wolf" to test if the other people comes to help you, but when the wolf really came, the people said "don't worry, it's a test"
@manooooh and the wolf ate of the boy's sheeps
@manooooh otherwise there is the grimmstories.com/language.php?grimm=026&l=en&r=it

8:46 AM
@CarLaTeX that makes sense

@manooooh Dalla was referring to the Grimms' story

@CarLaTeX can not it be due to the story of Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf?

@manooooh Yes, see the link I posted before

@CarLaTeX oh for an instant I thought that the history of that boy meet with the history that you linked haha. Good to know :D

> An Amoeba-Based Computer Found Solutions To 8-City Traveling Salesman Problem
I LOL'ed :)

8:49 AM
@manooooh Dalla was referring to the Grimms' story because he said "anche se attraverso il bosco"

@CarLaTeX okay so in this particular context attenti al lupo means that, but sometimes not right?

@manooooh Yes, it could also mean "beware of cheating"

@CarLaTeX thanks!!

@manooooh but in the case you say "non gridare "attenti al lupo""

9:07 AM
@CarLaTeX I do not understand

@manooooh 'don't shout "beware of the wolf"' (when it is not necessary)

Q: Let us have some TeX-mas fun

RaajaI hope we all know that Christmas is fast approaching. This indeed means that \begin{holidays} with a hope that it never ends \ldots but \ldots \end{holidays}. So, before we start celebrating the new-year, christmas and our holidays, I think we can have a contest where one should design a...

The best contribution is of course from @DavidCarlisle :)
@barbarabeeton see the sloth above in @PauloCereda image!
@PauloCereda In chat there is @Skillmon, some others are on the main site

@samcarter ooh mr. rabbit

@marmot Arg, I have to find out who to get such a nice hat myself!

1:17 PM
@Skillmon Hi mr. rabbit! Just an hypothetical question: if Overleaf includes arara support in the future, can I get a rubber duck freebie? :)

Trees recognize their children, sending them more carbon below ground and reducing their own roots to make room for their kids.
WAT

1:34 PM
@KhaledHosny I will try, but not today - I have to make cookies ...

@UlrikeFischer Duck-shaped cookies?

@samcarter I'm considering to make a few too ;-)

@UlrikeFischer :) Sounds like a good idea :)

2:04 PM
hello
\textbf{} don't work what I must do?

2:18 PM
@Vrouvrou creating a minimal working example (MWE) would be a good starting point...

I don't know how to creat a minimal example
because I don't know where is the problem
if I must added something
or delete something

@Vrouvrou the same way as always. Start from a copy of the document that you have that shows the problem and delete everything you can delete while still showing the problem.

@Vrouvrou In the process of creating a MWE you will most certainly find the source of the problem.

@samcarter tikz

@Vrouvrou you don't need to know where the problem is to create a minimal document. Simply remove all slowly more and more from the document.

2:27 PM
@DavidCarlisle You're mixing things up. tikz is the source of the tikzlings, not of the problem :)

@Vrouvrou if textbf doesn't produce a bold font there should be a font substitution warning in the log that explains the reason. This is of course assuming you don't literally have \textbf{} as that does nothing at all.
@samcarter I'll get you picture mode for Christmas.

@DavidCarlisle Can picture mode make a gift wrapping paper as beautiful as @UlrikeFischer's paper?

@samcarter much better

@DavidCarlisle Ohh, in this case I'm looking forward to xmas picture mode!

3:04 PM
@DavidCarlisle oi, you even don't know how my gift paper is looking.

@JosephWright On texdev.net/2014/01/28/the-overlay-syntax-and-pause-in-beamer: should the <+-> be <+->?

@UlrikeFischer was it done with picture mode?

A good singer was born from tex.stackexchange.com:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2OTA4VVNLo

@samcarter Probably :)
@samcarter There are some gremlins from the conversion from Wordpress!
@samcarter Should be fixed now

@JosephWright Make sure to not feed them past midnight!

@samcarter Indeed!

4:19 PM
@JosephWright One more before it might get wet: <.-> in texdev.net/2014/01/17/the-beamer-slide-overlay-concept
and <+(+1)> (same page)

@DavidCarlisle I'm not good enough to do it on my own and I couldn't find your picture-mode-ducks package ;-). But despite not having used the best tools the result is nice!

@samcarter ^^^dark ducks

@UlrikeFischer :) They look yummy!

@samcarter they will get a nougat-chocolate-licorice filling ...

@UlrikeFischer OHHH, this will be very dangerous for them, nobody will be able to resist eating them!

4:47 PM
@samcarter perhaps it would make a fitting dessert course to add to this menu

@UlrikeFischer Is this related? ;-)

5:18 PM
@ArtificialStupidity Are you him? Very good!
@UlrikeFischer wonderful!

@CarLaTeX Yes. The singer is Jasper Loy.

@ArtificialStupidity Compliments!
@PhelypeOleinik lol

5:38 PM
@DavidCarlisle I hope it was a different kind of chips @PauloCereda was talking about the other day!

6:28 PM
the important point being: It's not my faultDavid Carlisle 5 mins ago
@DavidCarlisle The important point being who gets the tick. ^^^^^

@egreg well fair enough, you showed the Op what to do, i just showed it wasn't my fault.

2 hours later…
8:10 PM
@PauloCereda I don't think this is likely to happen in the near future, but I can ask. Currently they're using latexmk. Depending on how much merch I get, and when, I can send you the rubber duck, if you insist on it :)

2 hours later…
10:36 PM
@KhaledHosny This is LuaHBTeX, Version 1.09.1 (TeX Live 2018/W32TeX) (format=luahblatex 2018.12.22). Now I need to find out how it works ;-)

@UlrikeFischer Cool
@UlrikeFischer What syntax do I use for font loading?

@JosephWright No idea, I just only build the format and used a hello world tex (which loads luaotfload quite normally).

@UlrikeFischer Ah, so the same as me then :)

11:10 PM
@JosephWright I tried the example at github.com/khaledhosny/luahbtex-harf/tree/master/src. I don't have the noto emoji and the notoserifCJK is not found but the rest works fine and the compilation is fast.

11:43 PM
@Skillmon oh no worries, mr. rabbit!

@KhaledHosny I'm not sure if the test-latex example in your fontloader is really correct. You are loading actually both mode (mode=node and mode=harf). If I change the code so that only mode=harf is used, then I get an error warning (node filter): error: ./harf-node.lua:638: attempt to index a nil value (field '?').

Hello @PauloCereda quack!

@JasperLoy hi!

@egreg Interestingly, my favourite line in my favourite movie Good Will Hunting is 'It's not your fault'.
