Anybody knows why latexindent indents after an equation?! It usually works perfectly for me, but on one document I get something like:

One sentence.
_tab_\begin{equation}
_tab__tab_2+2 = 4
_tab_\end{equation} % every fine until here
_tab_New sentence % why is this sentence indented??

OK, MWE:

% below, latexindent works fine
sentence $a$.
new sentence

% if you replace a with [ adds an erroneous tab:
sentence $[$.
____new sentence

Did anyone experience this before?

The problem is that if you have closed-open interval such as $[a,b)$, latexindent indents. When using $[a,b]$, there is no problem. If someone knows a workaround, please let me know!

@BAYMAX $ ... something ... $ is for inline math, \[ ... something ... \] is for display math. $$ ... something ... $$ are the TeX commands equivalent to LaTeX \[ ... something ... \], but see the link I posted before.

@anderstood I don't use latexindent myself, but clearly, it is not clever enough to handle this. One workaround might be to load the mathtools package and use \DeclarePairedDelimiter to create commands for the various sort of intervals, and then use those commands instead of writing brackets and parentheses explicitly. That does not help much if the goal is to indent other people's TeX code, however.

Q: Americanist Phonetic Alphabet (APA) Glottalized Plosive

Could someone please help me to write an apostrophe directly above a character? This symbol is used in the APA for glottalized, and I've scoured the tipa manual and can't find anything there (probably because IPA writes the apostrophe after the character). Here's an example:

@Johannes_B Ok this makes more sense. Does German have an expression like that? I assume it's intended to be similar to the English "I'd like to be in your shoes", although that tends to be use much more with its negative form.

Especially since i don't see why he would have said that.
