@DavidCarlisle @JosephWright Is this due to the new and improved l3 stuff MikTeX has but TL doesn't?

Q: Undefined control sequence with mhchem

NessiessonUsing pdflatex [Version 3.14159265-2.6-1.40.16 (MiKTeX 2.9 64-bit)] to compile the following: \documentclass{article} \usepackage[version=4]{mhchem} \begin{document} Hello, world! \end{document} throws the following error: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! ! LaTeX error: "ke...

Pastebin linked from there shows the L3 stuff is very recent. I just updated TL and don't get versions that recent. I can also compile the Hello, world! fine. Bernard's comment may also be relevant, but I can't remember if he uses MikTeX or TL or both.
I guess it is the same as

Q: “Undefined control sequence” error with fontspec

ashinpanAs a result of updating the l3kernel, l3packages, and l3experimental, a XeTeX document I'm working on no longer compiles. I've narrowed down the problem to fontspec failing to find a control sequence that was seemingly earlier available. The minimum working example would be: \documentclass{artic...

so probably mhchem needs updating, too?

12:22 PM
@PauloCereda I hear you can do amazing things in Photoshop these days... ;)

@cfr ooh :)

12:47 PM
How to make integral sign, but with horizontal line on center?

i uninstalled Miktex on my computer, now I try to install Texlive, but it is nearly 20 min it is still on the first step
could anyone tell me is it normal?
i have very good internet connection,

1:41 PM
@barznjy Something wrong
@PauloCereda Yes

Hoy @egreg's photos! @DavidCarlisle Thank you very much. :)
Where are other's photos??

@HarishKumar There are some shots of Frank in David's photos. :)

@PauloCereda Yes I found him. But others in those photos I couldn't recognize! :(

back home!

1:53 PM
@HarishKumar There will be a TeX-sx group photo uploaded soon I hope
We got most people

@DavidCarlisle Yay!

@HarishKumar There will be a TeX-sx group photo uploaded soon I hope

@JosephWright ooh I hope I am in that photo!

@JosephWright: It would be so nice!
@JosephWright When it is done please take the trouble to ping me. I am little off these days :)

@HarishKumar Joseph, Bruno, Frank, Johannes (Braams), and some bloke giving a lecture all show up in those:-)

2:05 PM
@DavidCarlisle I couldn't attach the names to faces in the photos. May be some caption will help :)

@DavidCarlisle ooh Joseph is the bloke with the striped shirt and hat!

@DavidCarlisle I got the man giving lecture ;-)

ooh and Bruno is walking near Frank!
@HeikoOberdiek: Hi!

@PauloCereda Hi, day one after the TUG conference.

@HeikoOberdiek Cool! :) Sadly I could not go, I'd love to meet you guys. :)
I was even practicing my German. :)
Hallo, Ich heiße Paulo!

2:09 PM
@StefanKottwitz When will the TeX-sx photo be online?
@HeikoOberdiek Hi: nice to finally know the face for the name :-)

Heute spreche Ich in TUG!

@PauloCereda Iching?

@PauloCereda Yes, you were missed. But I have seen your duck at a slide (from Tom's lecture I think to remember).

@HarishKumar :)

@PauloCereda :)

2:12 PM
@HeikoOberdiek awww :) Hopefully there will be another opportunity. I'm working in the backstage for some awesome announcements. :)

Is Heiko there in those photos?

@HarishKumar We were so many, thus we were divided into two groups when visiting the pit Messel. David was in the other group.

@HeikoOberdiek Oh!. I will wait to see you in tex.sx group photo then. :)

@JosephWright I will blog-post it today to our TeX.SE blog

@StefanKottwitz Great

2:23 PM
@Heiko: in other news, did you see the new features of arara? :)

@Paulo Probably not, I wasn't logged in in the last two weeks.

@HeikoOberdiek Oh, I rewrote the tool from scratch following a lot of your suggestions. :) We now have conditionals, better UI, lots of new methods, return values, multiline support, lists and maps, improved logging, local configuration, window messages, etc. :)

@PauloCereda Fleißig, fleißig (you wanted to speak in German today?)

@HeikoOberdiek oooh

2:44 PM
@PauloCereda You have to come to Toronto next year :-)

@ArthurReutenauer I can't, sadly. Visa problems. :(

@PauloCereda You've got a year!

@PauloCereda That’s a shame :-(
@JosephWright That’s a good point too.

@JosephWright Not enough, sadly. :) There's a lot of bureaucracy and money involved.

@PauloCereda Really? Visas can be tricky but even so
@PauloCereda It's down to the Canadian government, not your one

2:46 PM
@JosephWright Including pricing. :)

yo'
@PauloCereda Rubber ducks! :D

@yo' quaaaack <3

@JosephWright I read horror stories about how visa requests were handled at a French consulate in an Eastern European country (I think it was Moldova).
@JosephWright Because there were too many requests for the French staff to handle, they subcontracted it to a local company, that was completely corrupt and with a bloated administration.

@ArthurReutenauer Could be, of course

@JosephWright And obviously the French diplomatic staff has little oversight over all of this, because they were already overworked to start with.

3:05 PM
@PauloCereda If it takes a long time in Sao Paolo, be glad you're not in Lagos or Islamabad. cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/visitors.asp

@TorbjørnT. 7 days for Brazil: not so bad
@TorbjørnT. Better than the UK for a start!

btw, I'm an uncle since today! I've got a nephew Matěj (Matthew).

@yo' Cool
@yo' I too am an uncle (for just under 3 years)

@yo' congratulations (good choice of name as well:-)

@DavidCarlisle Hah! Now I know what @egreg looks like! Dashing young fellow.

documentation bug report, only took 23 years... latex-project.org/cgi-bin/ltxbugs2html?pr=latex/4437

@DavidCarlisle :-)

3:57 PM
@DavidCarlisle Is there any nifty way to make a column in a table optional/invisible? e.g. suppose I want to display the last column in a table in one version of a document but not in another?
@JosephWright Apparently we Canadians don't like Brazilians. And for this reason I also need a visa to go to Brazil if I do so with my Canadian passport.

Q: Easiest way to delete a column?

DavidI have a set of 10 tables and each has an extra column that I don't want. Specifically, these tables are descriptions of database tables exported by phpMyAdmin, and they all have a "MIME" column that I would like to remove. Is there a way to do this other than using string manipulation / find and...

@AlanMunn answers in the above look about right:-)

@TorbjørnT. Perfect.
@DavidCarlisle I know that took a lot for you to admit. :)
@TorbjørnT. And I even commented on the answer at some point...

4:12 PM
@DavidCarlisle Have looked at the business offering for Skype: there's a bug in the Skype for Business system about contacts!

@JosephWright ?

@DavidCarlisle Was looking at we've got at work in Office 365. There are some oddities adding people, so I asked our helpdesk:
> Unfortunately you are right and this seems to be a problem with a decision
Microsoft made to have completely separate contact lists for Skype and Skype for
Business users. From what I understand you can search for Skype users through
Skype for Business but they will not be able to see your request unless they are
running the Windows Desktop version of Skype. Once they have accepted your
request you should be able to video chat with them as normal.

@JosephWright ah typical, I was just looking at my existing contacts, I only have Frank, Johannes and Chris, it seems:-)

@DavidCarlisle Will is Mac-only so wouldn't be able to be 'found', at least from what our IT desk say
@DavidCarlisle Looking at Google Hangouts now

@JosephWright no but if I mail everyone and ask for skype ids that'll work (or hangouts as you say)

4:19 PM
@DavidCarlisle Might work: from what my IT desk just told me you can only accept the request from Windows, though

@JosephWright Is the problem that you only have Skype for business? I use my personal skype account for group conference calls all the time.

@AlanMunn I thought you had to pay for a conference call on Skype? That's why I'm looking at what's already been paid for :-)

@AlanMunn maybe that works as well, originally at least the number of people was limited. Should check, I have my personal account "linked" to the corporate one now so can't really tell one from other:-)

@JosephWright I don't think so. I don't know if there's a limit though. I usually have 3 people at a time max.
@JosephWright And I do have an account that allows me to make calls to regular phones to, for which I pay of course. But group calls to other Skype users are free.
@JosephWright I didn't know there was an hours limit. I've never run into it.

4:27 PM
One question guys: How to have both \sc and \tt in fancyhead? If I put \fancyhead[CO]{\sc \tt \rightmark} I get only \tt (I suppose because \tt is just before \rightmark). So, can I activate both in the same time?

@Cortizol Don't use those deprecated commands

@Cortizol don't use \sc or \tt in latex:-)

\scshape + ....?

@Cortizol the correct markup would be \ttfamily\scshape but in most font setups there wil not be a tt small caps font so it will substitute
@Cortizol the two letter commands are not defined by default and are just defined in some classes for compatibility with the pre-1993 latex2.09 system they never "combine" so \bf\it is italic not bold italic. unlike the latex2e font commands.

@DavidCarlisle It's working! :) Thanks.
@DavidCarlisle It's okay then to use \em?

4:33 PM
@Cortizol yes

Huh

45
A: Why are LaTeX macros so inconsistent?

David CarlisleOne of the main aims of LaTeX is to give a consistent syntax over the wildly inconsistent syntax of the TeX primitives, so \frac{a}{b} not {a \over b} \makebox[3pt]{foo} not \hbox to 3pt{foo} \begin{math} x \end{math} as an alias for $ x $ The distinction between environments and commands wi...

@Cortizol although usually \emph is better

@DavidCarlisle okay
@DavidCarlisle And I suppose, for example, that \bfseries and \textbf are equivalent commands?

@DavidCarlisle Can't find you on Skype :-( Could you add me? josephawright/joseph.wright@morningstar2.co.uk

@Cortizol No, \bfseries is a switch (doesn't take an argument and makes all following text bold); \textbf takes an argument and makes it bold.

4:39 PM
@Cortizol related (and select the same font) but (like \emph and \em) the \textxx commands add italic correction \/ automatically at the beginning or end so you don't need to do that, but \bfseries just does the font.

@DavidCarlisle Ah, search now working

@AlanMunn, @DavidCarlisle Okay guys
@JosephWright For searching on Skype you need to be online (if you are invisible I think you can't search)

@Cortizol I'm in the garden, so the connection is on and off :-)

5:43 PM
One question: how to write integral symbol with horizontal line on middle (center)? Something like \fint from esint package (but I want horizontal line)

6:07 PM
@PaulGessler: Hi, back to the US?

Lots of exciting things happening :-)

@JosephWright Tell us more. :)

@JosephWright Story time!

@PauloCereda, @SeanAllred Lots of useful feedback to TUG2015, team meeting very useful, bit list of 'to do', ...
Also have some work e-mails that are quite good

@SeanAllred Boys and girls, gather around the campfire for uncle @Joseph is gonna tell you the tale of the TUG 2016 meeting. :)

6:13 PM
@PauloCereda Not sure I'll get to that one

@PauloCereda Entitled "Conversations from the future!"

@JosephWright ooh I'm moving forward in time, my bad. :)
@SeanAllred LOL Freudian timelapse. :)

@JosephWright Sadness :( but certainly understandable.
We should still think about some sort of bi?-monthly tele-meeting though. Sounds like it would be fun, at least :)

@SeanAllred Team are exploring this (see above): once every ten years not so great
Probably will write something for my blog

yo'
@JosephWright lol

6:17 PM
@JosephWright Oooh, looking into Skype?

@yo' You might have noticed we spent almost all of the free time on our team meeting
@SeanAllred Yes
@SeanAllred @DavidCarlisle has already done a quick test

yo'
@JosephWright yeah. You were no fun (but I understand it)

@yo' :-(

@JosephWright @DavidCarlisle A success, I hope?

@SeanAllred Yes, broadly

yo'
6:17 PM
@JosephWright don't worry really, I'm really glad to see L3 moving :)

@SeanAllred Skype from iPad apparently had some issues

yo'
btw, I've got a sort-of bug which I'll need help with. I'll post it as a question sooner or later. (Related to \ProvidesExplFile)
Enrico should arrive in couple minutes, then we're going for a good local beer and good goulash :)

@yo' Great

yo'
@JosephWright yep. And tomorrow trip to two truly historical Czech towns :)

@yo' Perhaps we should push for TUG2017 in the Czech republic :-)

yo'
6:21 PM
@JosephWright if I settle down here after my thesis, you can await the application :)
but I think that twice in a row so close to each other wouldn't be really good. Maybe TUG2019?
Or TUG2017 in SP, @Paulo ? :)

@yo' working on it. :)

yo'
@PauloCereda :D And 2019 in Prague. Sounds like a plan!
@JosephWright and you could then make an L3 team satellite meeting, I'm sure we'd find a way to do that very cheap :)

@JosephWright maybe the ipad user of course: to be determined...

@DavidCarlisle iPad Mittelbach? :)

@PauloCereda one of the people not at Darmstadt:-)

6:33 PM
@DavidCarlisle ooh
:)

@PauloCereda I did learn one important thing at the conference. Always edit your git commit history.
6

@DavidCarlisle :-)

@DavidCarlisle :)

@PauloCereda you will see why once you see the videos...

@DavidCarlisle uh-oh. :)

6:41 PM
Anyone used SubGit?
@yo' We sort-of did anyway :-)

yo'
@JosephWright interlacing two meetings doesn't sound like a good idea :)

@JosephWright: how about setting up something using, say, appear.in?

@PauloCereda I think we all have Skype :-)

@JosephWright Isn't that the popular svn->git migrator?

@SeanAllred I've not come across it before, hence asking :-)
@SeanAllred Will would like to move the mirror system from relying on his desktop

6:53 PM
@JosephWright I get the feeling it's the goto-tool

@SeanAllred Looks like it might be

@JosephWright Free for open source :)

@SeanAllred I'm wondering if we could get it on our server so the mirroring would work better
@SeanAllred Yes, saw that

@JosephWright but then we couldn't peek. :)

@JosephWright I imagine it would be since it would be a completely local deal (assuming you're talking about the svn server)

6:55 PM
@SeanAllred Yes, comedy

@JosephWright I take it git was discussed at the meeting?

@SeanAllred Yes

@JosephWright Good, bad, or mix?
(well, favored/unfavored/mix)

@SeanAllred At present, we will stay as we are: GitHub for issues/mirror works well but there is no change to the core SVN repo

@JosephWright Makes sense

1 hour later…
8:16 PM
I was going to ask this on main site, but I am not sure if it is even possible. If someone thinks it is possible to solve, I can post an official question. Is it possible to write a macro (\renewcommand or such) so that this line
  \includegraphics[width=0.1\paperwidth]{images/1_pic}
is replaced by this
\ifdefined\HCode
  \includegraphics[width=0.1\paperwidth]{image.eps}
\else
  \includegraphics[width=0.1\paperwidth]{image.pdf}
\fi
If I use renewcommand, it will not work, since infinite loop results. i.e. I can't do this:
\renewcommand\includegraphics[2][]
{
\ifdefined\HCode
  \includegraphics[#1]{#2.eps}
\else
  \includegraphics[#1]{#2.pdf}
\fi
}
ofcourse, it is calling itself. So this might not be possible. The reason I want this, is to avoid defining a new command as I have so many files to change.

@Nasser Why not create \IncludeGraphics acting as a wrapper? :)

@PauloCereda I do not know how this works., too advanced for me. You think I can ask this on main board? I just wanted to first check if the question makes sense.

@DavidCarlisle For fun, I checked through all of the LaTeX3 SVN:
 (no author)  1
 braams      67
 bruno      983
 carlisle     2
 Chris       18
 david       15
 design       3
 Frank       18
 joseph    2835
 kastrup      4
 latex3     115
 mittelba   538
 morten     410
 Rainer       7
 robin        1
 rowley       1
 schoepf      7
 will       646

@Nasser Neither do I. :)
@JosephWright This carlisle bloke didn't do anything. :)

@PauloCereda :-)

8:20 PM
The problem of making new command, is that I have to edit 10,000 latex file and change each \includegraphics[]{} to \Myincludegraphics[]{} and it is too much work.

@Nasser You already have to get enough aspirins for your headaches anyway. :)

@PauloCereda when I were a lad we used a proper version control system: RCS... they lost the history moving to this newfangled modern system

@PauloCereda Does appear to be mainly my fault, though in my defence the SVN logs are a bit odd in the early days
@DavidCarlisle Was just saying that

@Nasser no. you don't.

@DavidCarlisle The run with Morten and Johannes I hadn't noticed before

8:22 PM
@Nasser I think a patch could be applied to \includegraphics and then incorportes what you want. :)

@DavidCarlisle if you think you can solve, I'll post the question on main board.

@Nasser why do that instead of simply \includegraphics{image} ?

@PauloCereda I do not know how to patch Latex commands.

@Nasser David can do anything, but according to the table data @JosephWright posted, he's lazy. :)
@Nasser Little I know. :)

@PauloCereda not read doc which is all that's required here:-)

8:24 PM
@DavidCarlisle as I said above, I need to do the \ifdefined stuff. Currently my commands are like this :
\includegraphics[width=0.1\paperwidth]{image}
But I need them to become
\ifdefined\HCode
\includegraphics[width=0.1\paperwidth]{image.eps}
\else
\includegraphics[width=0.1\paperwidth]{image.pdf}
\fi
without me having to edit 10,000 files. I can define a macro in the common include file, but do not know how.

@Nasser why would you want to change to that?
@Nasser you just need \includegraphics[width=0.1\paperwidth]{image}

@DavidCarlisle due to huge problem with image resizing issue. Tex4ht do not have bounding box for svg files, so I have to use eps files for it to get the bounding box. Basically the above is to allow image resizing with tex4ht. So have to use eps files.

@Nasser and?

@DavidCarlisle doing \includegraphics[width=0.1\paperwidth]{image} does not work, since tex4ht do not image resize. Have to use .eps file for tex4ht and .pdf file for pdflatex. i.e. have to be explicit in file extension, no? How else would it work?

@Nasser that is exactly why the recommendation is to not put the extension in the includegraphics. so all you need is \includegraphics[width=0.1\paperwidth]{image}
@Nasser if that is the case (which seems very unlikely) then that's a bug in tex4ht but I don't see how it could not work really.

8:29 PM
@DavidCarlisle ok, that is what I had. But how to tell tex4ht to use .eps file and not anything else?

@Nasser it should have eps before pdf already so there should be nothing to do but if you want to set it \DeclareGraphicsExtensions see texdoc grfguide page 12

@DavidCarlisle well, please see comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.tex.tex4ht/1030 I am following CVR advice there.
..... to use this
\ifdefined\HCode
\includegraphics[width=0.5\paperwidth]{gr1.eps}
\else
\includegraphics[width=0.5\paperwidth]{gr1.pdf}
\fi
I will look at \DeclareGraphicsExtensions now to see if I can have tex4ht use the .eps file automatically ! thanks.

8:43 PM
@DavidCarlisle I tried your suggestion and it seems to work so far! thanks, I need to test it more on my other setup. This is what I wrote for small MWE:
\documentclass[11pt,notitlepage]{article}%
\usepackage{graphicx}

\ifdefined\HCode
\DeclareGraphicsExtensions{.eps}
\else
\DeclareGraphicsExtensions{.pdf}
\fi

\begin{document}
\includegraphics[width=0.1\paperwidth]{images/1_pic}
\end{document}

I assume the above is what you meant to do.

@Nasser yes although You shouldn't really need the test in the preamble, but whatever.

@DavidCarlisle (Almost) engine tests :-)

@Nasser \paperwidth an unusual choice of base for image size.

@DavidCarlisle BTW, did the 'minutes' look OK?

@JosephWright yes but you shouldn't need engine tests with engine specofic drivers being loaded:-)

8:46 PM
@DavidCarlisle :-)

@DavidCarlisle I see what you mean. You are saying then that tex4ht should use eps by default if it sees one. Ok, I see.
@DavidCarlisle should I use \textwidth instead of \paperwidth? I was not sure which to use at the time.

@JosephWright yes think so, that plus the gh issues should cover things I think, thanks.
@Nasser \paperwidth is more or less never used during typesetting, it should just be used (by the system) in final page makeup to position the text block on the page

@DavidCarlisle ok thanks. Will change to use \textwidth.

9:22 PM
I'm trying to learn how to use kvoptions for a package. Is there some recommended method for dealing with string options? (i.e, what to do with the options that you get). What I have in mind is different chunks of code executed depending on the particular string option value. Even a package that shows a good example of how to do this would help.

How does one prints a macro value? I wanted to print \Gin@extensions but I do not see any output?

@Nasser That will print it: could be empty
@Nasser Did you \makeatletter?

This page faqoverflow.com/tex/45498.html says order of extensions used is stored in stored in the macro \Gin@extensions
@JosephWright No. I did not know I need one. I'll try again. thanks

@AlanMunn Use expl3/l3keys
@AlanMunn Or of course ask @DavidCarlisle about a keyval solution

@JosephWright Yes, but that will require learning l3, right?

9:29 PM
@AlanMunn Only a very small subset :-)
@AlanMunn Doing a case selection isn't actually linked to using kvoptions
@AlanMunn A possible solution in primitives:

@JosephWright still no output. I tried
\documentclass[11pt,notitlepage]{article}%
\usepackage{graphicx}

\begin{document}

\makeatletter
\Gin@extensions
\makeatother
\end{document}

@Nasser I get a big list: .png,.pdf,.jpg,.mps,.jpeg,.jbig2,.jb2,.PNG,.PDF,.JPG,.JPEG,.JBIG2,.JB2,.eps (running with pdfLaTeX)

@JosephWright Right, I know, but that's what I want it for. So what's the best way to implement a case selection?

@JosephWright oh, I was using lualatex to compile. I'll try pdflatex now

@Nasser with lualatex you get .png,.pdf,.jpg,.mps,.tif,.jpeg,.PNG,.PDF,.JPG,.JPEG,.eps

9:34 PM
sorry, my mistake. it works.

\RequirePackage{keyval}
\makeatletter
\define@key{foo}{bar}{\def\my@key@value{#1}}
\@namedef{my@key@string@A}{0}
\@namedef{my@key@string@B}{1}
\@namedef{my@key@string@C}{1}
% Process keys then
\ifcase\csname my@key@string@\my@key@value\endcsname\space
  % Code for first string
\or
  % Code for second string
\or
  % Code for third string
...
\else
  % Fall back
\fi
@AlanMunn ^^^
OK, not all in primitives but could be

@AlanMunn a keval setting is just a def so if \foo can be abc or xyz you can test for that in various ways

@DavidCarlisle Other approaches?

@JosephWright \@nameuse{wibble\foo} then define \wibbleabc and \wibblexyz

@DavidCarlisle That was my second thought, but I guess I prefer to have to selector separate from the payload :-)

9:36 PM
@PauloCereda ;-)

@JosephWright but a hash table's faster than a linear search (not that you can tell with a list of three:-)

@DavidCarlisle Fair enough

@JosephWright Thanks. That helps.

@JosephWright I was wondering if it was time for another re-shuffle in ltluatex, moving all the test files to a tests directory (or perhaps separate plain and latex test directories) and moving ltluatex.tex and emu-luatexbase into the dtx (and documenting them)

found something interesting. htlatex foo.tex shows this for values of Gin@extensions:
.eps,.ps,.eps.gz,.ps.gz,.eps.Z,.mps , so htlatex can read compressed (gziped eps images)! I did not know this.

9:39 PM
@DavidCarlisle Sounds fine to me

@JosephWright Ok not tonight but may do that later.

@DavidCarlisle Fine: I have a lot of stuff to do (I seem to be L3 secretary or something!)

@ChristianHupfer o.O
Das Ente!
2

@PauloCereda Damn, a typo: It's Brazilian, not Brazilean :D

@ChristianHupfer Germans. <3

9:43 PM
@PauloCereda Don't mention the war :-P

@ChristianHupfer Do the funny walk! :)

@PauloCereda you'd have liked the 3rd team meeting session: @DavidCarlisle and I had a running 'Spanish Inquisition' joke which sadly was lost on Will and Bruno
5

@JosephWright ooooh

@PauloCereda Amongst the key priorities for the team are such ideas as ...
2

@PauloCereda: We did an excursion to a silver mine from the medieval time, and there was a pond, with a lot of ducks in front of the mine

9:46 PM
@JosephWright LOLOLOL

@DavidCarlisle Everything up to date? I did have to fix something in this area not so long ago

@JosephWright I will not buy this banquet, it's scratched? :)

@PauloCereda Not quite ...

@JosephWright yes (svn says is) but I may have junk around I'll do a cleanup and try again...

At revision 5678.

@PauloCereda "Don't call me Maurice in court" ;-)

@JosephWright thanks works now (rm *; svn update in l3kernel directory) not sure what it was but it's gone now:-)

@DavidCarlisle I do recognise the error: it was caused by not having the e-TeX part correct. Perhaps you had an old build.lua or something

@JosephWright possibly. feeling a bit tired so just decided to wipe clean rather than trace too hard:-)

10:01 PM
@JosephWright: I think, this should be converted to a comment: tex.stackexchange.com/questions/256726/…

Picture online!
Stefan Kottwitz on July 23, 2015

From 20th to 22nd of July, the TUG 2015 conference took place in Darmstadt, Germany. It was a splendid time, and it was so great to meat you brilliant TeX Stack Exchange friends there!

We had

awesome presentations, some of the best done by TeX.SE members

an excursion to the underground and to the deep past

a lot of discussions

WiFi :-)

a tasty banquet and daily lunch

coffee and icecream

some beer at night

Joseph posted daily reviews on his blog, so you could follow the proceedings close to the time, or now see a summary. …

@PauloCereda I didn't have to, he knows how to read

@yo' o.O
@yo' Heiko is compiling a complex TeX code inside his head while the photo is being taken. :)

yo'
@PauloCereda likely

good news. They discovered an earth like planet called Kepler-452b. So if global warming gets too bad on earth, we can all just leave earth and move to 452b and be safe there. It is only 1,500 light years away from us. I'll take TexLive with me to keep me busy during this long trip.

@Nasser Can I take ducks with me? :)

@PauloCereda it is not clear from the news if Kepler-452b supports life for ducks also. But I think if people can live there, then ducks should do well also.

@Nasser They better find out, or I will stay with the ducks here. :)

11:14 PM
I wonder if I grow a beard, I will end up looking like Bruno's doppelgänger. :)

11:34 PM
@PauloCereda @PaulMcCartney is
but @PaulGessler is back in the US of A

@PaulGessler LOL He was teh walrus. :)

(finally) :-)

@PaulGessler yay, welcome to 'Merica!

@PauloCereda you are here too?! xD :-)

@PaulGessler Of course I am in America (South part), silly. <3

11:38 PM
@PauloCereda ah yes of course. I never heard anybody use 'Merica to refer to the continent rather than the country before just now.

@PaulGessler Oh they don't use, typically. :) I say 'Merica because there is a very old Italian (?) song called Merica which refers to the war immigrants coming from Italy to (South) America. My mum used to sing this song. :)
@Paul: I understand that 'Merica is really referring to US, but I couldn't resist. :)
@Paul: correction: song is not Italian, it's Brazilian. :)
@PaulGessler: youtube.com/watch?v=F27OF0W3s1A You can join the choir singing Merica, Merica. :)
This song brings me good memories. :)
Oh no, I'm gonna cry.
