@FaheemMitha oh you're not doing all the letters as a single document?

@DavidCarlisle the letters are all one document stuck together.

@FaheemMitha so you want \cleardoublepage before each letter

i'm looping over it with datatool.
@DavidCarlisle ok. at the beginning rather than the end?

@FaheemMitha well between each letter you can think of it as after one or before the other,

@DavidCarlisle hmm. i've tried it in various places, and no effect.
Well, time to go back to sleep. Take care, guys.

12:08 AM
@FaheemMitha are you using [twoside] option? (otherwise all pages are set as oddside pages and \cleardoublepage acts like \clearpage)

@DavidCarlisle no
should i be?
i'm using the letter class, to be clear.

@FaheemMitha yes

@DavidCarlisle ok, one sec
@DavidCarlisle ok, now i'm getting an extra blank page after the first letter (there are only two), but i'm not using the \cleardoublepage thing - they are all commented out.

@FaheemMitha I can't guess what you are doing at this stage (ie how you are making multiple letters) too late to worry about it, you may want to make a MWE on site

Adding \cleardoublepage adds an extra blank page at the end.
@DavidCarlisle ok.

@Joseph Wright Have you seen this tex.stackexchange.com/q/170917 and this tex.stackexchange.com/q/147801 ?
cant see any solution for this in your Doc. Maybe that would be a new feature.

12:52 PM

Q: When citing a paper on arXiv, how important is the category?

Jack KellyThe arXiv documentation says that we should reference arXiv documents using references of the form: arXiv:YYMM.NNNNv# [category] e.g.: arXiv:0706.1234v1 [math.FA] However, most papers that I am aware of do not bother to include the category. i.e. they have references of the form: arXiv:YYMM...

Off-topic?

3:19 PM
@JosephWright in its current form, I think yes, off-topic. Would be a different story if he had asked how to write a style including the arXiv category.

3:39 PM
@JosephWright Yes.

3:50 PM
@JosephWright you can clearly migrate it to Academia.SE since there's no such question yet.

@PauloCereda Too quiet here. Did you know there's a Guns n' Roses concert in Recife in a few days?

@egreg Recife? Oh no, it's very far from here. :)

I need to make more noise in here. :)
@egreg I have a mass to atend. :)
And to sing the psalm. :P

@PauloCereda Just 2600 km. :)

@egreg It's very hot in Recife, although there are beautiful beaches. :)
I could organize a TUG conference in Recife, so we could have the TeX lion in a beach as logo. :)

@DavidCarlisle Four years for minor revisions? :P
Editorial revision of MathML3, with no schema changes other than some minor bug fixes. The main focus of the revision was to accommodate the use of MathML within HTML as opposed to XML (XHTML) documents, as specified in HTML5. This required minor rewordings throughout the specification removing assumptions about XML parsing.
@topskip Enjoy your beer and the good company!

@egreg No four years for the version of HTML which includes MathML to progress far enough along the W3C standards track that we can normatively reference it in the updated MathML:-)

@DavidCarlisle Yes, always blaming someone else. :P
@DavidCarlisle You could also blame Frank and Leslie.

@egreg well also I've been busy finishing xor:-)
