@FaheemMitha That happens occasionally (I remember one case)

@cgnieder yes, it happens, and these things are a tough test of how strong the community is. It's similar to real life: neo-nacism and radicalism is a tough test of how strong the society is

@egreg I had this discussion with the team a couple of years ago :-)

hello @Harish, hope you feel better!

@tohecz yes. so far we've done pretty well I think...

@cgnieder yep :)

10:09 PM
@tohecz Hi Tom Thanks. I am Good. :) How are you?

@HarishKumar better today than yesterday

@tohecz Get well soon. I think it is pretty cold there. Sun light cures lot of things :)

@cgnieder However, sometimes I have the feeling that a downvote would be the proper way to go, for instance here with -1, we could simply vote-to-delete:

A: Custom margin settings for figure in LaTeX

mehrdadjgIt's pretty simple, there's no need for any of that stuff. just add a ` \\[-35mm] to the previous paragraph, it takes care of the spare space above the figure. You can use the same approach to get rid of the space below (of course -35mm is not fixed, you might need to change it).

@HarishKumar Good news!
@JosephWright And what was your position?

In my earlier example, the datatool thing, bfseries is now now working, though the filenames are split.
\nextnuml{\RowID} & \Date & {\bfseries\expandafter\url\expandafter{\Filename}} & \From & \To & \Email & \Subject \\

10:19 PM
@egreg Thank you :)

Do I need more \expandafters, perhaps?

@FaheemMitha you probably need a teletype font that has a bold series I guess

@cgnieder Oh.

@tohecz I'm undecided... maybe you're right. It would certainly by easier...

@FaheemMitha try \usepacakage{lmodern}\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}

10:22 PM
@FaheemMitha I don't think so: \expandafter\url\expandafter{\Filename} should be fine

@FaheemMitha The \expandafters you have will just replace \Filename with whatever it's defined to be. If you do \show\Filename it will show you what's being passed to \url.

@FaheemMitha btw, what does it mean "split" ?

@cgnieder I don't think \url is sensitive to \bfseries anyway.

@egreg well, that might be the problem ;)

@egreg Oh: I read »\bfseries is now not working« - my mistake

10:25 PM
@tohecz Sorry. I meant to say (a) the bfseries is not working (b) the filenames are splitting across lines (which is why I added url.)
@cgnieder That's what I meant
So \url ignores \bfseries?
However, in another table, the filenames are being split across lines without using url, so I'm puzzled.

@egreg I wanted to explore whether the etoolbox position was workable as it annoys far fewer people than the expl3 one

@FaheemMitha vvv
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage{beramono}
\usepackage{url}
\begin{document}
\bfseries\ttfamily \url{foo}
\end{document}

If I use something like p{1.5in} would it split names (with no spaces) across lines?
@cgnieder I like new century schoolbook (I think that is what it is).

@JosephWright I agree with Frank that the variants are the way to go.

@egreg That was the conclusion

10:29 PM
@JosephWright :)

@egreg Still need some help implementing it, of course

If I use \usepackage{fouriernc} do I need anything else. Like \usepackage[T1]{fontenc}? Currently, I don't have anything else.

10:48 PM
Please be careful when kerning letters. http://t.co/EP9LL3korl

@cgnieder I knew that! Really poor kerning, indeed.

@egreg I wonder how whoever designed the logo could not recognize that
Similarly this one:

11:15 PM
@cgnieder Printing on a soft surface can have its influence. The pack of lights should have cost the designer his/her position.
Aren't "find the font" question off-topic?

Q: Identifying a font

VividDWhat is the font used in these diagrams? I tried searching, but can't find exact one.

@egreg Also dupes of the general one, so I've pulled the trigger

@egreg Indeed. :)

Friends, using titlesec, is it possible to inject a mdframed environment in a \subsection?
I'm failing to understand the command. :(
\titleformat{\subsection}{...}{...}{...}{...}
