@terdon I was expecting some Self Defence Against Fresh Fruit situations (get killed no matter what you do) but so far, people have been extremely friendly :).
@JacobVlijm :)
@JacobVlijm it's incredible how close you and Thomas are. It's going to be a close race!
@terdon, I really have no clue how it ends...
We'll know in a few days.

3 hours later…
13:20
good evening room
Have time to reply to all of you
hm?
@terdon Indeed, we keep switching out 2nd and 3rd place heh
@terdon by far though you're in the lead, so maybe we should congratulate you now? :P
@ByteCommander I didn't said that answers for older version are obselete, I used (or unupdated for my version). I surely can see the usefulness of keeping answers for older versions.. making use of bold to specify this atm would do
@Terdon I will update the question my self and point to the right direction as different method not available atm
@JacobVlijm late reply but I don't have a specific example right now cause i check this on-the fly but nevertheless if you can check my latest flags you will see some cases with comments or answers that are obsolete or non constructive.
thats it for now. Good luck to all for the election. will be around here to discuss if needed again :)
13:48
@ThomasW. Only in the primaries, you never know.
@Denja What is this about? What question?
@terdon True, but still :P
Should have seen the SO election. 1 & 2 in the primaries were elected, but 3 fell to the 4th.
even though 3 had ~2k more primary votes than 4.
14:10
@Seth And what would those 2k have been as percentage?
@ByteCommander Don't forget that apart from a core set of regulars, not everyone who votes in the primaries will vote in the election and vice versa.

1 hour later…
15:24
@terdon yeah, who knows, you still might have a chance :)
Anything's possible!
Sure, but probability is small.
@Seth ...But that sounds crazy!
You only get 3 votes in election. Primaries is free for all.
@jokerdino I could probably look it up somewhere, but what is the difference in weight on 1/2/3?
15:40
That's the order of your preference.
@jokerdino haha, sure, but since the order matters, how does it weigh?
It's Single Transferable Vote. So, a part of your vote will be carried over to the next person as and when the first person meets the required threshold.
Que?
Ah, I get it.
The single transferable vote (STV) is a voting system designed to achieve proportional representation through ranked voting in multi-seat constituencies (voting districts). Under STV, an elector (voter) has a single vote that is initially allocated to their most preferred candidate and, as the count proceeds and candidates are either elected or eliminated, is transferred to other candidates according to the voter's stated preferences, in proportion to any surplus or discarded votes. The exact method of reapportioning votes can vary (see Counting methods). The system provides approximately p...

That makes it even less predictable, but more a reflection of the general idea
15:47
@Ahadaghapour, wrong chat room. Move over to General room, thank you.
@jokerdino Thank you

3 hours later…
18:46
unless I'm mistaken, the election begins in under an hour?
@ThomasW. Yep
well, primaries show @terdon in the far lead
and that are the numbers as of now
@Videonauth forgive me for being on poor wifi, i'm iwaiting at the bus station to travel
18:48
np
that image is still not loaded
will be an interesting ride tho
so i'll refresh the page and update data myself
thanks to a copy of the script
indeed
it's been me and @JacobVlijm alternating between #2 and #3
though @terdon is in the far lead heh
however it turns out i wish everyone luck in this, myself included
indeed.
I wish all the candidates luck
myself included
18:49
@ThomasW. (and all) Haha same to you and me
wondering whether we should be giving @terdon an early congrats. Though, who knows how things will turn out heh
maybe we see a turnaround even and me the underdog with his only 2 months but more reviews as some 3 year candidates makes to run, life is weird somethims
@ThomasW. I guess he won't like that (neither would I)
indeed
btw three more days till my second steward badge :)
18:52
i was talking in jest ;)
It's been insane anyway
@Videonauth cool! I need 50 more review actions on suggested edits before my next steward badge heh.
i have the first post one already and the next in view is the for the LQ queue
60 more reviews
i have mine for the close votes queue heh
so three days since i always make my quota
1,000 votes cast just saw that
19:04
I made mine in LQ.
Also, as soon as the election phase starts, I will be the only candidate who owns all significant badges, I think.
During the election phase, we will not see any kind of progress, right? We have to wait the full 4 days until we see anything?
dunno, its a first for me so i cant tell
For me as well...
I wish you all good luck in the next stage of the election
thank you wild man
Your Welcome!
19:17
Thanks, I wish you and all the other candidates good luck and a fair election as well.
Thanks @WildMan
Your welome! @JacobVlijm
20:05
@Videonauth On your graphic I see terdon has a 6, 6, 6 for badges. Not sure if this is good luck or not :)
who knows i just cast my votes :)
@andrew.46 :D
Well, good luck to all 10 candidates! It has been a blast so far and I am immensely happy to be in the 10 :)
:)
An invitation to vote just arrived in m y inbox. Do all AU users get one?
20:15
yes
^
All users with enough reputation to vote (150, I think).
For 4 days :)
= a potential lot of votes
20:38
good luck to all candidates!
20:58
Good luck bunch!

Made it through to the election phase! :)
Through the primary phase, my dear Panda. Only the primary phase...
:-)
user136984
21:33
@ByteCommander: Yes, but at least I actually got into the actual elections phase... I didn't say anything about getting through it... :P
user136984
Mine is a more optimistic view of what you said.
Ugh. I missed that little "to".
It's probably too late to expect me to read things correctly... ;-)
user136984
:D
user136984
@ByteCommander: Will you vote for yourself by the way? :D
Sure.
#1 is for me
21:41
Would be a bit weird other way, or? I mean we nominated because we think were the best candidate for the job, so why not vote for ourselfes?
#2 is going to win anyway and #3's favourite color is orange... :)
user136984
I wonder if anyone will actually vote for me... :D
You'll know in 4 days.
