What's the local accent? I hear things like "Grathias", but I thought that was a Spain thing rather than Málaga specifically

@DJMcMayhem “Grathias” is Spain in general, yes. “Grathiath” or “Grasias” is typical of Andalucía (and the latter is the Latin American standard pronunciation too)
Also, final “s” is often dropped
So, “Grathiaa” (the final vowel is slightly lengthened, as if to take the place of the missing “s”)

@LuisMendo I've had 6 teachers, 4 of whom were Spanish or spoke with Spanish accents, so I feel like that part wouldn't be too bad for me (apart from maybe the speed). What would kill me would be the vosotros form, which I never bothered learning, because my first teacher was from Colombia and told us not to worry about it.

@Giuseppe Yeah, most people from Latin America find vosotros strange. But I think it's useful to learn the vosotros form, and perhaps easier than ustedes. Your Colombian teacher probably just found his way more natural :-)
