OMG! The intro! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

2:01 AM
Ho Lee poopadoodles
So many questions
Does everyone just "know" what happened to Little finger?
Sam always hated his father maybe not his brother but his father was going to kill him if Sam didn't take the black.
Harry Strickland..... Hmm... Is the Golden Company going to have any of the books back story?

2:19 AM
OMG I just finished it
Littlefinger didn't come up.
But other than that, they just checked off expected reunions and shit so rapid-fire that the rest of the season is just wide open. How about that jump-scare with little Lord Umber?
Where they left it was good. I bet within minutes of the beginning of the next episode, Bran says, "There's nothing to forgive."
They were quick to tell us not to expect elephants. So no elephants, but maybe ice spiders big as hounds?
@Skooba My step-mother hated me, so eventually, I hated her back. But I'd walk through fire to save her life. When Sam broke down, so did I.

Q: What is the symbolic significance of the Night King's message?

Dawny33 Is there some meaning to that symbolic message? If yes, then what is that?

@Skooba I'd be very surprised if they flesh it out much. I mean there's only 5 episodes left and one of those will be nothing but fighting.
I want to see Arya wear Littlefinger's face, so maybe his fate will be kind of kept under wraps?
I was disappointed in The Hound and Arya reunion. I was hoping for more warmth.
@M&TVFeeds Always the artists.

2:35 AM
well, the whole episode was reunions, and start new plots for this season
hard to have lot of screen time when there are lot of character to show

And Jon knows the truth, but Dany doesn't.

yup

I cried twice. Anyone else?

what sam said is really important i think. if jon reveal his true identity, not sure she would bend the knee

I believe that will be a pretty major conflict for the season.

2:39 AM
i was very surprised when this poor kid scream, but other than that, no real big sensation
well, jon snow don't seem to want any crown, he want the best for the north
thing is, he will have much more man if he take his crown (plus the seven kingdoms crown) back

Other than the little Ned Umber jump scare, I was most affected by the intro. Holy shit a lot went into that.

yeah, the intro was really pleasant to see

And that was a fast hour. When it faded to black I looked at the clock in astonishment.

same. Not that many things happen, but I wasn't expecting more

I really liked it when Dany said, "No one knows how to ride a dragon until they ride a dragon."
@Kepotx Yep, it was mostly an efficient set-up for the rest of the season. Which is what it had to be.

2:52 AM
and it dit quite well

Yes. Good start, it did not disappoint.
I was soooo expecting Lyanna Mormont to give exactly the look she gave to Dany :)

"dude, gtfo and bring back our king, you silly "queen""
@Jolenealaska the fact that he can ride a dragon this easy proove he is targaryen
would be hard for dany te deny it

There have been (in the companion books) non-Targaryen dragon riders, but not many. Jeez, there's already tons of reaction videos on YouTube.

yes, but Velaryon
so, still valyrian noble family
and the fact that rhaegar and lyanna had a child is plausible. The fact that ned had a child with a velaryon much less

It's certainly enough to back-up his claim if he chooses to make it.

3:04 AM
sure. And we could have a dance of the dragons 2.0
3 sides, North, Daenerys, and Night King, and every side have one dragon
could be fun

and expensive! :)

in CGI or in-universe?

Expensive CGI
Expensive in-universe too

well, it's last season and they said there ould be big battles ^^
joke aside, it would be indeed too costly in-universe, so Jon would think twice about it

I can't wait to see what's chasing Arya. I've never seen her look terrified before.
(talking about the trailer)

Q: Which Targaryen is Jon Snow?

TraxexWe see Sam revealing Jon's true identity to him at the crypts of Winterfell. There he refers to him as Aegon the Sixth. However, Aegon VI was the son of Rhaegar and Elia Martell and was born before Jon Snow. So Jon Snow should be Aegon VII Targaryen. Am I missing something?

Q: Do Velaryons not exist in the Show?

TraxexOne of the Showrunners in the Behind the Episode interview said: Obviously in the books we learn about the Dragonseed and House Velaryon dragonriders. Have they been removed from the Show's history?

7:30 AM
@Jolenealaska well, there are also redShirt #32, #36 and #42 who died while theon rescue yara
oh and this poor ship who died for the dragons

Oh, I must have blinked ;)
Ok, first NAMED character death!

7:44 AM
@Jolenealaska I'm not sure how spoiler-free this room will be :P So it's hard to know whether to read past this message or not :P

@Mithrandir24601 Spoilerific already
We've discussed lots of OMG moments

@Jolenealaska Ah, OK. I'll just have to write several message to get the spoilers off the top of the screen :P

7:57 AM
Poor Jorah.

yeah, image is good to hide those spoilers

8:16 AM
@TheLethalCarrot not sure of your last edit in Traxex question

What part of it?

I mean, what he is missing is that this title only apply if he is crowned
so add "if he is crowned" in the title seems odd, as at least for me, it's the answer of his question

I tried to reword the title so it would be accurate to an extent but also not be a big ol' spoiler. Feel free to reword it if you want

I agree with the spoiler part, not sure how to reword it however
however, in his other question, the answer is also inside the question
my bad, I havn't seen Histories and Lore yet

I've only seen some

8:29 AM
They're great.
See them all!

They're essentially an attempt at getting some of the book's history into the show I think

Yes, it fills in some of the gaps for those who haven't read the books, but they aren't just a rehash for those who have read the books. There is a lot that isn't in ASOIAF but just alluded to in the companion books.
And the narration by the series actors is stellar.

@Jolenealaska well, even with plot only, it feel rushed
I think it's a good thing they decide to simplify some plots, and put the lore in a different show

Some of those "sins" don't make any sense

5 hours later…
1:50 PM
I expected this room to be less quiet to be honest

2:17 PM
Meh, was a typical episode 1, mostly set up and introduction with not much else

there was no new information to us the fans I think.
Except for Cersei allowing Euron in
Oh and Bronn being sent out as a hitman
don't think he'll do it

I doubt Bronn will do it
He likes gold but he was friends with both of them

At first my wife went..... oooh it is a trap he going to walk out and get murdered.

and he already got gold

but he dropped it saving Jaime
showing that he does value them as people

2:21 PM
I honestly thought they was going to murder him as well haha

he also value his own life

Q: How could the Night King break the Wall but was not able to do that before?

DelmonteIn season 07, last episode, we saw that the Night King broke the Wall and invade Castle Black with all its troop and White Walkers. Maybe I haven't caught it, but how could the Night King break the Wall but was not able to do that in the past?

so staying in the same city as cersei is a bad idea
better go north with a good alibi

Anywhere in Westeros at the moment is a bad idea :P

she also freaked out... KID HAS BLUE EYES EEEEEEEEEEEEE

2:24 PM
I was probably one of the few people that shat themselves when the damn Umber kid jumped at them

Q: What are the motives behind Cersei's orders to Bronn?

hotmeatballsoupThis question contains spoilers for Season 8 Episode 1. So my question:

@Jolenealaska I am stuck somewhere with only 2g internet coverage :( I'll get to watch it on 17 at the earliest :[

1 hour later…

Q: why does Gendry's beard not match the hair?

shukiwhy did they make characters like Gendry to have blonde beard when he has black hair? :3 Or Daenerys to have black eyebrows when she has silver hair :v and why does jon snow has black hair instead of silver?

Q: Why was Tyrion worried & disapproved of Jon and Dany’s actions on the boat?

KharoBangdoIn S07E07, “The Dragon and the Wolf”, of Game of Thrones, We see Tyrion noticing this & there is a worried look on his face and clear disapproval. In S08E01, “Winterfell”, when Ser Davos proposes their marriage, Tyrion comments that they make a lovely couple. Earlier, when Dany is sai...

@TheLethalCarrot I jumped - big time. I don't generally appreciate jump scares, but they're rare on GoT, and it was a good one.

Q: What was the meaning of this message?

C.KocaIn S08E01 of Game of Thrones, we see this message: We have seen this several times, the symbol drawn with horse heads, the stones around the weirwood where white walkers are created and in some caves, drawn by Children of the Forest. Do we know the meaning behind this symbol? Does it or some...
