@Randal'Thor Thanks Rand :D
@Möoz Cheers Mooz :D Wouldn't have happened without you guys to help and support
r/asoiaf is filled with peasants. I wish I could sing Rains of Castamere to the whole lot of them
Idiots think "Tywin got lucky cus Bobby B died. Lol What a dumbass!".......Idiots.

1 hour later…
4:18 AM
@Aegon Who are these mental cases that think that?

1 hour later…
5:19 AM
@Möoz Wildlings at ASOIAF reddit
As If Tywin didn't plan it all out

1 hour later…
6:47 AM
@Randal'Thor There's more than just Gold tag badges... There's gold badges in general too
@Aegon That's why we go to the freefolk. All this "Spoilers discussion", "Spoilers ADWD" Just say what you have to say and if you see a spoiler well then stiffen that upper lip
@Aegon Tywin got lucky bro
He was getting old and slow and was lucky his daughter is a volatile psychopath and got rid of Bobby B before Bobby B got rid of him.
@Randal'Thor But then how's he supposed to increase his review count and carry out the mission his overlords sent him to do?! You're not saying he should be using the Skip button! God the horrors of entertaining that idea!

7:12 AM
I will discuss that in depth when I deliver the build to QA in a couple of hours

Well considering I was just winding you up, I don't think you have to worry too much
Debate on if BR is 3EC:
> As I said, you guys pretty much went over the for and against arguments. To me, the against are stronger. But it's a matter of opinion. I think that GRR's style is so nuanced that this kind of confusion isn't a coincidence.
"GRRM is such a great author that the theories I believe must be right because he's so amazing" come on...
Not everything is some ridiculous ploy to trick a reader.
Before I break my laptop, I'm going back to the Ssansa appreciation thread.

7:32 AM
Hmm, so in aSoS there is a Bran chapter about the Knight of the Laughing Tree, in which a story about the tournament at Harrenhal is told. Without any names. Is there already a question to link the characters in that story to names?

I lied, I got confused, I don't know what you're asking

> "Two," said Meera. "The she-wolf laid into the squires with a tourney sword, scattering them all. The crannogman was bruised and bloodied, so she took him back to her lair to clean his cuts and bind them up with linen. There he met her pack brothers: the wild wolf who led them, the quiet wolf beside him, and the pup who was youngest of the four.
which kinda gives a good list, but it's not on SE, so I wonder whether it is worth to ask a question about it

@JarkoDubbeldam Lyanna Stark is the she-wolf, Howland reed is the Crannogman, Brandon the Wild Wolf, Eddard the Quiet Wolf and Benjen the pup
Or so is how I've merely expected it

@Edlothiad Benjen is the pup, but there are more characters like that in the story
And I don't know them all, only after reading that awoiaf page.

@JarkoDubbeldam There we go, you're right. Sure go ahead and I'll make a list of them

7:49 AM
hmm, should I include (parts of) the story?

Sure, I can't seem to find an easy to read copy online without going through individual excerpts on SearchOIAF

I'll just make a list of the descriptions, not the entire story. that OK?

It's your question paha!
I'm going to start writing when it pops up, so really it's free game for anyone

I think I got them all

Q: Who were the characters in Meera Reed's story?

Jarko DubbeldamIn Bran II from a Storm of Swords, Meera Reed tells a story about the Knight of the Laughing Tree. In this story, no names are mentioned, only descriptions of the characters. While it is already established that the Crannogman is Holwand Reed, it is unclear to me who all of the other characters a...

8:07 AM
@Aegon BOOOOOOO
At least hurry up and add sources. I thought you were submitting a build to QA!
In case you don't have the full text at work you can find it here: reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/u6vw3/…

8:28 AM
@Edlothiad I am
Which is why no HTML tables, no sources
Well kinda no sources
Links are there
And quote too
So I guess that;s that
for now
Damn it I am gonna get in trouble
30 minutes!
Man vs time!!!

Another downvote. These weak tactics, I fear them not

9:01 AM
@Edlothiad No gold tag badge just 2 normal gold ones in December
Also at least you had chance to answer that one, I was still asleep! haha
And mornin'

house Lonmouth has an odd sigil

@TheLethalCarrot Well I didn't really, by the time I'd started typing it was answered.

I know was just joking :)

God I'm crazy tired today again...
This is starting to annoy me =.=

All that rugby haha
@JarkoDubbeldam It is a bit
Best house is obviously House Dunn

9:17 AM
Not even cuz of rugby, just cuz I'm sleeping like 6 hours a night, at uni it was fine, I could nap whenever, now it's death

I get ya

2 hours later…
11:05 AM
And sending a buggy build to the QA
When he discovers it, I am gonna be all "Oh Goodness, However did those bugs get in here?"

@Edlothiad Those are cheaper though. Every active/high-rep user has some gold badges, but only about a dozen all told on this site have gold tag badges.
@Edlothiad I dunno if he cares all that much about increasing his review count. Projection much? ;-)

@Aegon Haha isn't every build buggy anyway? As long as they're not too buggy you're fine :)
23 left for GoT gold and I've lost motivation, I need Skooba to do to me what I did to Egg haha

@TheLethalCarrot Yeah that's the point. It's not usable. I just needed to get it off my back for a while. Bug fixing is legit time spent, otherwise "you are taking too long"
My own fault tho. I worked just 4 days out of the 2 weeks
^ That's what you did to me @TheLethalCarrot

Haha I get ya I have the same problem too
I sure did :P

I triggered some guy, by accident, in the space.se chat and now I'm getting abused for being a misogynist

11:15 AM
You stole a lot of questions I had in my backlog too haha
@Edlothiad Important edit there haha

@Randal'Thor But only 3 have the Suggested Edit gold badge.

@Randal'Thor We shall see what Meta.SE makes of it

@Aegon Do you think the black brother was Yoren? He's the only one I could think of and seems to fit.

yesterday, by Edlothiad
Lets not have this pointless Spam vs VTD discussion in here again, I'll note that we've had it twice already. There's a Trash compactor channel for such chatter.

@Edlothiad I use that button more liberally than you seem to think... although I do admit that I more often just close the tab rather than pressing Skip.

11:18 AM
It was joke.

@Edlothiad shrug So?

I like attention. THERE I SAID IT! HAPPY?!
5

@Mithrandir Well, we've already had a meta.SFF post about it.

1 min ago, by Edlothiad
It was joke.
Ugh now I can't find where I actually was in the TQAT mini-backlog
@TheLethalCarrot I read that as something entirely different :/

@Edlothiad Cos you have a dirty mind

11:21 AM
I did a reverse Skooba and instead of forgetting to type a word I forgot to read a word.

11:46 AM
@TheLethalCarrot Could be. There is no proof AFAIK tho

No proof beyond deduction

Yeah I suppose

Is there proof for any of them?
Besides that they're obvious
Well other than like King, Rhaeg and co

Was there only one wondering crow at a time? Jon replaces Yoren implying there was but there could be always 2 or something

@Edlothiad Who else would the fair maiden's famous uncle who was a white sword be?

11:49 AM
@TheLethalCarrot don't think so: awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Wandering_crow

Like I said. Besides that they're obvious

I should start working. QA has sent the build back. Apparently the guy hit a blocker on the very beginning. I can't catch a break

@JarkoDubbeldam Ahhh damn, I'd still guess it's meant to be Yoren though

@Edlothiad We'll have your trial over the outrageous statements you made about Lord Tywin later

@Aegon Truth hurts

11:51 AM
@TheLethalCarrot Yoren takes the King's Road on his tour. And knows Lady Shella Whent IIRC. That could be his designated region. Crownlands and Riverlands

@TheLethalCarrot What am I missing from that page?

@Edlothiad Yoren and Gueren are both Wandering Crow's during AGoT

So they couldn't be 20 years earlier?
OOOOOOOOOH Jarko was linking to something completely different, lol

The evidence is proof there can be more than one at a time which is enough to dispute the claim that it has to be Yoren because he was active then

12:33 PM
So what is so special about the Boltons eyes @TheLethalCarrot? did you pick up on that when writing that answer about Ramsay's mom?

Well I initially thought it was just a thing people say but on re-reading and seeing Ramsays uncle beat his mum because of it there must be something about them that's distinctive

hmm, awoiaf lists Sandor Clegane as dead, but isn't that disputed?

@TheLethalCarrot and it is enough for Roose to immediately say the boy was his.

@Skooba mmhm I don't know you always here people saying the baby has your eyes in our world so I think Roose might be able to tell from them. It's others that didn't know him telling that says he has something about them.
@JarkoDubbeldam People believe he is the gravedigger but it's not confirmed

> Reek I teach him about his heritage

12:40 PM
@TheLethalCarrot yeah, TBH thats such a cliche thing. "OOOOOoooooo he has your eyes"

Does not compute (@thele)
@Skooba GRRM does love his cliches

@TheLethalCarrot the horse I think is the giveaway
@Edlothiad It might fit into the "Roose is a vampire" crackpot theory

@Edlothiad What doesn't?

Reek I teach him about his heritage

Oh Reek 1
Don't know why I used I haha

1:36 PM
@JarkoDubbeldam Until George explicitly states that the Gravedigger is the Hound, he shall remain officially dead
It does say on Sandor's page "Died: In 300 AC (supposedly)"
Also there is a reference to Gravedigger theory

Stannis murders his brother Renly with blood magic (299 AC).

I came here to complain about work. Thanks I needed to see that
:D

Haha made me chuckle too

I laughed this morning as well haha

@Aegon hmm, on Arya's page, in her list he is just marked as dead. But then again, so is Gregor

2:32 PM
I just realised today I'd read that somebody used the following argument that the claim the Bloodraven is 3EC in on of the appendices/index is misguided.
"In the appendices Jon is listed as Robb's half-brother"

I don't get what the argument is

Jon isn't Robb's half brother, therefore BR isn't 3EC
That's when I realised how ridiculous that argument is from the perspective of the books.

I still don't understand how the two pieces of information are supposed to be connected though haha

@TheLethalCarrot it does imply that the appendix isn't a 100% true source of information

So one "mistake" means that everything else is wrong? Yeah stupid argument

2:40 PM
just that it might not be trustworthy
idk, that's what I'm assuming Ed's point to be

If that is what it is it's a terrible argument haha

:shrugs:

Not eds point, this internet fools point

ah
idk, afaik 3EC was called Brynden and member of the NW in the books

He was arguing that the 3EC isn't definitely the BR even though one of the appendices/indices say he is, because in the same appendix/index they make the claim that Jon is Robb's half-brother

2:43 PM
That in itself already is a pretty good indication

The thing is, they're basing their 3EC =/= BR theory on the R+L=J theory

Which is stupid

While the R+L=J theory is almost certainly true, one shouldn't base a theory on a theory

@Edlothiad link?

On a side note do you guys like my latest answer? I found an interview for showverse :)
0
A: How did the White Walkers get their weapons and armor?

TheLethalCarrotMichele Clapton was the costume designer for Game of Thrones from Season 1 to Season 5 and won two awards during her time working for the show. In an interview she has said that the idea behind the White Walker's clothing/armour was that they stole them from another civilazation, And while th...

2:44 PM
well it was at /r/pureasoiaf, and it made my brain hurt so I just went to the Sansa appreciation thread

@TheLethalCarrot Nicely done

Nice answer
@Aegon I'll have to look, I think I linked it earlier/yesterday

I've got a new question coming but it's probably a self answer when I track the source of a quote but it's fair game as I'm only going to start looking when I post the Q

When someone links a youtube link in an ASOIAF discussion
That's your first clue....run, don't look back

2:50 PM
Pahah!
I've got the clip in the background now

@Aegon what's even going on there?

Yep nearly threw up there
@JarkoDubbeldam Lancel is being tossed aside by Cersei during the Battle of Blackwater I believe

Q: Why this change in the White Walkers?

TheLethalCarrotIn Season 1 of Game of Thrones we only ever see the shadowy figure of the White Walkers as they are running and when one confronts Will and Gared. When I watched the prologue back, at around 5:41 in this clip, you do see a very quick glimpse of a White Walkers face as it kills Ser Waymar Royce...

@Edlothiad It's when he comes to give her a message, can't remember what, so she punches him in his wound

@JarkoDubbeldam A good honest ASOIAF fan teaching a youtube linking heretic his rightful place
@BaeltheBard Tempted to close this as dupe, unless you have an official answer @TheLethalCarrot

2:56 PM
Dupe of what?

Dupe of what?
HAMMER!

37
Q: Why do White Walkers wear clothes? Or why were they once (nearly) naked?

RichSWhite Walkers in the first and second season were nearly naked. This guy from the start of the first season wears a raggy loin cloth, a vambrace, and boots. His three brothers in the background wear similar loin cloths and nothing on their chests. This walker from the end of the second season...

Lol
That's only about their clothes not about their physical appearance

Oh yes just noticed

The other one should be duped to TLCs
If it has a good answer that covers both clothes and appearance

2:57 PM
Hammer's gonna rust away and then I am gonna be like Robert....."Gods, too fat for my armor."
@Edlothiad Nah, it's about clothes

@Aegon Specific gets duped to general, site policy.

@TheLethalCarrot You can probably guess by my comment that I didn't really read it through

Aeg did you comment on that reddit thread?

@Edlothiad Entirely different questions now that I think about it.
@Edlothiad No I ran away. Youtube linkers scare me

@Aegon No, one is about a general change for the WW and the other is about the change of clothes

2:59 PM
I've only answered from a physical point of view, didn't take me too long to track the interview down in the end, I'll leave the clothes point to the other question.

@Edlothiad You could start the voting if you feel certain. Since I am not certain, I think I should stay away.
https://scifi.stackexchange.com/a/149701/54887

Delete worthy? ^

@Aegon As I said, if the answer on TLC's covers both
@Aegon Yep!

@Edlothiad I meant my question to be about physical changes only, I've edited it to be clearer

You should make it a general question. It's neater

Not much point, making it general only serves as a purpose to close the other one and repeat information. Also a general one moves away from the point of the question as in Season 2 they aren't wearing the armour yet.
And my question is about the changes from season 1 to the later seasons
Also that interview I link to is annoying cos the guy keeps calling the wights zombies even though he states on his first mention they're called wights -_-

3:14 PM
just put (sic) next to each mention of "zonbie"

@Edlothiad Lancel looks more like a domino tile getting a gentle tap though

@JarkoDubbeldam That's what it's meant to show.

@Edlothiad Haha, I didn't need to include those parts luckily, when I read the interview to look for anything else that was relevant though it was annoying
I should really have left my Q open for longer before self answering, oh well

I don't think anyone was going to answer
People don't like the hard questions

20-30 white walkers?
I was under the impression that it was a very small group

3:20 PM
I know, I thought the Q might get some updoots wasn't really thinking the A would. My fault for self answering so soon I suppose as soon as that happens people stop voting as much
@JarkoDubbeldam An estimate put it to around 14 I think but that's all we've seen

@Edlothiad "zonbie" (sic) [sic] ;)

And they were only asked to make 10 to 30 until 10 to 30 are shown on screen it's not canon

@Mithrandir careful, you don't want that to parse as an url

1 hour later…
4:28 PM
I need to stop answering when you guys aren't around, no one else gives me any updoots haha

4:51 PM
We upvote quality answers, not your answers

I know
But this room is where the majority of my upvotes come from (only by me guessing from when I answer when you guys are around to when you aren't)
And of course this room is where the active GoT lot are so it's more likely upvotes for GoT stuff comes from here

(I’m trying to cover us from being accused of having a vote ring and you’re shooting me in the foot 😜)

Lol
We clearly don't have a vote ring but with such a small active amount of tag users it's only inevitable we all end up voting for each others stuff
So I suppose it would look like that haha
On a different note I only have 15 left now so with 5 a day I can get the gold on friday. All depends on the questions I find
Everytime I say I'm slowing down on answering I end up answering quite a few haha

5:57 PM
@Edlothiad Don't worry about this. I DV all TLC's stuff anyway so that no one can accuse us of colluding.

6:14 PM
Ow, Savage!

6:29 PM
Unrelated to most things, but me at work

2 hours later…
8:20 PM
@amflare At least your on top of it

I mean, I can't let you get too far ahead of me, now can I?
