Hotpie might actually learn to bake if he'd visit Seasoned Advice!
I can now call that a solid recipe. I've made 8 loaves by the exact same (original) recipe, and all 8 have been nearly perfect. Yay! Now I wonder if there is anything to that cherry pit thing:)
@Edlothiad The bread is a ciabatta dough, which is very chewy, crusty bread with a light sourdough-like tang (overnight ferment). It differs from ciabatta in the fact that it was baked in a buttered loaf pan. Ciabatta is formed without butter and is baked on a stone. The filling is very long cooked caramelized onions (with a touch of garlic and hot pepper). Very sweet and just a tiny-bit sneaky hot.
Not sugary sweet, just sweet from the conversion of sugar naturally in the onions.
Being from the right side of the pond, I should be quite familiar with ciabatta, although I guess my mind was thinking it was more like a savoury pasty/pastry. That sounds really nice, except for the hot pepper part. You lose me there :-P
