@cregox You really don't have to post your opinion of every answer underneath every answer. I've argued why I think one of your comments is ill-advised, some of the others are borderline offensive.

@Tetsujin I think comments on that old post are becoming a bit too side show (mine included) so I’ve cleaned them all up. If it keeps getting bumped, I’ll ask on meta if we lock it. It was highly relevant and topical for the first couple years as an entirely new way of typing caused everyone a lot of FUD.
If anyone sees offensive comments please flag for a mod to review. I don’t see any evidence of @cregox trying to offend - just was excited to see a post and learn a bit about hidden edits.

@bmike Sure, fine by me - I just thought they were getting a bit personal to each poster, rather than 'generally helpful'. I'm happy to see them all go, thanks.

weird, i can't seem to post responses here...
in any case, thanks for noticing the excitement and staying mostly positive @bmike 😁
@bmike i saw it again today, and can't remember what i said exactly...
but finding them all deleted is a big reason i keep distancing myself from sen and this whole "big brother" culture in general.
i completely disagree to ever delete text data manually written by humans ever. specially mistakes, as those are our biggest lessons.
i would love if everything i ever written is versioned for as long as i'm alive and anyone who might be interested in me. same for every single human, including hitler.
also, i do remember reading some aspects of what @tetsujin might've found offensive... and i disagree again... in fact, i just posted somewhere these days about the exact same issue... i may try to find it, even if nobody might be interested. 😏

Hi again @cregox - comments are the exception here. We strongly, strongly, strongly want people to make a question or make an answer, period. Comments exist for improving a post and therefore either get the post edited or get stale and delete. Conflict comes up when people with very understandable experience levels or goals want different things from the same post. Hence us moderators.
Let’s say someone posts “this is wrong” in a comment, that’s really not at all constructive and based on how often or insecure or just you had a really bad day, can really sting. The code of conduct has some great advice in general on how to comment constructively. Also, deleting comments let’s people forgive and forget when nasty things get posted.
You were no where near a line I saw on needing to remind anyone on code of conduct - but I could see very clearly how most people would be “eww that’s harsh” on a “this is wrong” comment
I admire your openness to never have anything deleted, but we just don’t live in a space that allows that today online. I think the balance of letting people comment easily outweighs the downside of having to make judgement calls for some of us in a position to handle flags.
