@Monomeeth Yes. I hope they eventually bring back boot camp. Seems Apple is open to it, which is really nice. 9to5mac.com/2020/11/20/…

@anki This was a big issue a couple months ago. But everyone who has been writing and talking about it, completely misled readers and watchers imo. The issue isn't Apple. The issue is OCSP. Your browser does the exact same thing for every website you go to. That's regardless of what browser and what OS you use.

> Those shiny new Apple Silicon macs that Apple just announced, three times faster and 50% more battery life? They won’t run any OS before Big Sur.
That insinuates Apple is forcing you into their privacy leaking OS. That's competently misleading. Almost every tech product ever released prevents you from downgrading before the most recent OS that came out with the product. This is a side effect of that.
> Your computer now serves a remote master, who has decided that they are entitled to spy on you. If you’ve the most efficient high-res laptop in the world, you can’t turn this off.*
This is also inaccurate. You can easily disable OCSP on macs. Editing the host file is one way.
Ironically, he complains about people using clickbait but he himself is using it to push the "big brother evil tech" narrative. Privacy is a huge issue in the tech field, but not in the way this guy wants us to believe.
I am actually going to write an article on this.
