phone is locked, open control centre, tap notes (enable it first), when you hit "all notes" in the top left, it asks for touch id but also gives passcode option
same for photos, same for audio recordings
alternatively, swipe to get the widget screen and any one of those items can get you "use passcode" button
screentime, news (needs browser), Calendar, reminder, up next, messages, etc
If your reading app has a widget, add it.
otherwise play an empty audio and tap it get into music/ Spotify/ something else.
no matter what you do now, you need to switch app at least once
