@nohillside We are lucky. Many other communities are failing.
@bmike I think I'll throw my name in. I'm a bit low rep for mod but I guess people will take that into account when voting.
(If you decide to go ahead with the election)
P.S. As you may (or may not) have noticed, I removed JamesBot from this room. He didn't get much use so I figured I would remove him. He is still operational on quite a few rooms on StackOverflow and is being maintained. If anyone wants him back, just ping me and I'll add him.
Moderators are generally held to a higher behavioral standard (setting an example, etc.). If a user is a moderator on one site, say Ask Different, are they expected to also maintain that level of "example setting" on another that they are not moderator on like StackOveflow?

@JBis interesting question :-) I honestly don’t care whether a user on AD is mod on another site, I primarily look at the content they post (and the behavior they show) here on this site. OTOH I do act more carefully on other sites since I got the diamond, so there is probably some self-regulation in place.

@bmike I don't see any problem with any of that.. an appropriate, featured meta would help a lot

@JBis yay!
Ding a moderator does mean you have to be more conservative and step back from answering in many cases. The mod hat and role needs to be clear, so if we moderate a post, it’s often good to disengage for having an opinion than advocating for the sprit of cooperation and helping people work out any disagreements in a civil tone.
And yes, your mod diamond follows you to other sites, but not as strongly as it is in effect here. Heck, you will get all sorts of emails, twitters, people searching for you IRL if you moderate here.
It’s an honor and privilege, though so none of those above “issues” take away the shine of being able to help this place be welcoming, effective and on track. Also, we have a system to take breaks, support each other, and even step away any time we want or need a break.
