@KyleCronin hmm... I think people can get VLC on their iOS devices completely legitimately. I must test this...
00:25
Internet down here
only access on my iphone
never heard of Downcast, what can you tell me about it besides what's on their site?
and what are you referring to with VLC?
I Can't. Just saw reference to it, figured I'd pass it off to you :). You know, Instacast and all.
The iPhone Configuration Utility can apparently be used to load apps if you have the IPA. People have been using it to force Google+ onto an iPad / iPod Touch.
does the iPhone config utility require a paid dev account?
It may be able too.

So, today I went to the apple store and looked at the Airs. I then proceeded to run geek bench on them. How (and should) I post this on Ask Different?
That's not really a question.
erm. The metrics aren't :).
The question you just asked is in fact a question.
Yes, I know, but I have heard people asking about the benchmarks of lion in the past.
And I'm not sure where those questions are, despite that they were only a few days ago.
Is there a wiki page I can put them in?
00:57
the only wiki page is for tags, and we don't have model specific tags. The most specific would be [macbook-air]

@VxJasonxV I did a completely clean install, and the dots were there
huh
@bckbck You didn't use the migration wizard, at all?
@VxJasonxV Not at all.
well
blame tech crunch :)
If I'm not wrong Apple only gives you the option to turn it off
read it from somewhere in apple.com
So in other words, someone turned it off and forgot they did.
or accidentally did before ever really noticing it.
01:42
it's also possible that it's only on the brand new Macs that there aren't any dots
strange idea
strange implementation

Has anyone tried Google+ ?
14:22
@bckbck Yeah
I like it, but there are so few people there now...
15:14
@Nathan It seems really good
but limited amount of people
Is everyone with an invite able to log in?
Because when I look at the Google+ page it shows:
with the "Keep Me Posted" button above it
16:17
The site certainly throttles sign ups. At unannounced times it let's in some people without an invite. At other times. People with recent and legitimate invites cannot join.
Auto correct on iOS is spelling for me. Forgive poor punctuation
It's fairly nice once you're in, some snazzy web app fun animations. Lots of work to curate, new terminology. Most don't know what to do wth it.
Lots of FIRST and just testing and exploration. Few are making great use of it.

Will a question on removing the laser engraving from an ipod be on topic on this site?
I would say yes.
It's an Apple service + Apple hardware.
Thanks
