@mature @Fabby Please don't pile canned comments onto a post with an existing comment addressing the issue. If you feel like something else needs to be added, add a comment addressing it in your own words. Thanks!

@Seth you seem to repeat yourself maybe make a PSA on meta (without naming names OFC)

Q: PSA: When reviewing, don't post duplicate (and near-duplicate) comments!

Eliah KaganAs jrg♦ said (pinned in main chat): Hey folks who use "canned" comments: If you see one thats already there that expresses the same general idea, don't add another one. Thanks. :) This has been happening a lot lately, and I'm pretty sure it's mainly because many people are not using the new...

Look how many times that has been featured.

mhmmmmm
Now i remeber having read it back then

If it wasn't a really inconsiderate thing to put new users through I wouldn't care, but it often comes across pretty rude.

Well i did that in the beginning too, maybe edit that one slightly to give it a bump to the top again?
problem i see right now eliahs wording and grammar is in most cases pretty perfect so its hard to find something edit worthy :D

We can always feature it again but it hasn't seemed to do much good. You either have to check meta or notice it in the sidebar of the site.
So I'm also doing direct education :)

ah ok well featuring it again will not hurt i guess
@Seth question, can tags be created as well without actually being bound to a question? If yes how so?
i have two i see comming up in the forseeable future or and

7:03 AM
@Videonauth They cannot.

Ah ok

7:51 AM
@Seth You mean do not use flag "Not an answer"?

8:02 AM
@mature What he means is, if someone reviewed before you and already used the 'Not an answer' option which results in an accordingly comment, there is no need for you to do the same, if you agree with that you can simply choose 'No comment needed' instead
This keeps the comments clean and genuine, and not produsing double and triple versions of the same canned comment
If youre first to review of course go ahaed and choose the response accordingly

8:27 AM
@Videonauth ok

8:39 AM
@Seth I normally do that... I must've been in robo-mode
Sorry!
@mature No, he means: Upvote existing comment and then still flag with "No comment needed"

@Videonauth @mature flags do not add comments. Please do flag

@Zanna were talking about review, and choosing there not an answer does indeed add a comment :)

yes, the rest of what you said is clear. The review queue gives options to add comments. That dialog can give a wrong impression that you need to add a comment, resulting in too many comments being added
but there isn't a "not an answer" option in that dialog, only in the answer flagging dialog
so I didn't want @mature to think you were talking about that dialog and avoid flagging :)
gotta go to work

Unless OP adds their question (so that issues with it can be discussed), this can be closed as a dupe

@mature No, flagging is good, but just don't leave a "canned" (or pre-written, generic comment) if someone else has already left a comment about those issues (see the image above my message)

8:16 PM
@Seth In my case it always happened automatically when i add flag to post. I mean I never add this comment manually as simple native comment.

@mature It does not happen automatically when you flag a post, but it can happen when you review low quality posts in the review queues. However you don't have to add a comment, there is a choice to not leave one:
That dialog does not add a flag to anything, only a comment if you choose that option.

Finally sudodus posted the answer I was hoping for on the question discussed on meta. Thanks so much @Kulfy for raising that matter. I think visitors will find that page more helpful now.
Do you think the question is general enough? I didn't want to remove all the details from it because of Rinzwind's answer. Thinking about the original text of the question, which I didn't give enough attention to because of it becoming pretty much a canonical post, I think the many closures against it were probably wrong (as you suggested!) But I think it's less disruptive to edit the question to make it more general than try to fix all the closures
Kind of similar to this question (see revision history) - at one point people were downvoting answers that gave simple solutions because of the question's wording, although it was the canonical post for the issue
Thanks again for writing an answer too - I think a lot of people will appreciate that answer! Maybe more than the answer I wanted to see
