This suggested edit adds tags for things that are mentioned in the question but aren't significantly important to the question. It's a very general question with over 600 upvotes, and most readers aren't using 11.10 or Xubuntu. I've rejected it with the "irrelevant tags" reason. It needs at least one more review.

clearly conflicts with author's intent - I've upvoted the comment expressing the same critique as this edit, but I think it's very likely that the author intended to recommend sending SIGKILL (-9) and fairly likely that many of the upvoters upvoted it in light of that.
It's true that one should usually try SIGTERM first but there are a variety of circumstances where that doesn't work. Some edit that mentions this might potentially be justified, but just getting rid of -9 altogether makes too little attempt to preserve the intent or effect of the post.

@pomsky I'm pretty sure it's not. It's effectively a really long comment asking for information. The most important parts could even have fit in a single comment on the question.

@EliahKagan It's removed now

plagiarized post and very likely to be considered NAA even separately from that - I considered custom-flagging it but I just flagged it NAA instead. I suggest flagging NAA (and voting to delete).

@pomsky The question links to that specific question and says why the OP doesn't consider it to fix their problem. Are you sure it's a duplicate of that question?

@EliahKagan Ah, I see. I had to reload the page to see that they have edited the question (and tbh moved the goalpost). That answer easily be turned into a script.
Is there a question regarding how to create a script to run multiple commands? That can be added to the target then.
Not sure why they're insisting on "without using a script" though, what else do they want?

I think a launcher (i.e., a .desktop file) would do what they want in a way they would find acceptable, even though they say they don't want a script and that's sort of a script.

@EliahKagan I left a comment mentioning that
unclear, unlike GNOME 2 or MATE or Xfce or KDE etc., GNOME nowadays (v3.x) doesn't come with easily removable panels.
Also the answer seems like a speculative one, may be an overkill or not a useful one.
The initial version kinda confirms that the answerer is throwing darts in the dark (gnome-panel is not even installed by default).

@EliahKagan I'm not sure. But if closed as dupe, it might need multiple targets. Since Ubuntu knows NTFS while Windows don't know ext4 unless 3rd party tools are used.
