@Tezz The thing I get confused with that verse is Shani is said as the elder brother of Surya. But sanjna after giving birth to yama and yami, vacates that place leaving her chaya there. To that chaya, shani and savarna are born .Which makes yama elder and shani younger.

@SwiftPushkar I had a discussion with sv. in "rational thinkers". He says the wheel was not stuck. I say wheel stick down. Why should Surya help? becoz, Indra didn't lift the chariot of Arjuna when stuck down. Krishna himself did it as it is the duty of driver.

IMHO Bhudevi giving curse to karna is just an interpolation. brahmana giving a curse, I doubt that too. The intention of those interpolated curses is to exaggerate Karna's characters. Their version- "1.If Karna was not cursed, he would easily defeat Arjuna 2.Bhishma was also paralleled so, he restricted Karna in entering the battlefield for 10 days. 3.Karna didn't use his best weapons whereas arjuna used his best weapons."
