@TheDestroyer I want to know about shiva giving half part in his body to parvati.
@SreeCharan ok.
@SreeCharan Shiva is always in Ardhanarishwara form from the time beginning...
@Tezz Good morning.
@SreeCharan Good Morning!...
@Tezz Ok. Isn't that a form of Shiva like his five faces? I want to know scriptural reference for that. Is there anything such.
05:03
@SreeCharan yes, it's like a form... and I think Parvati also does penence to get half body of Husband...
@SreeCharan Just after creation, Shiva appears before Brahma and gives here Shakti for creation of women and as previously created beings of Brahman were unable to reproduce. That's the first time they appear in Ardanariswara form in this cycle of creation.
But let me search story of Shiva-Parvati Ardanariswara form.
@SreeCharan But in the beginning when there was no sexual reproduction... Brahma became angry.. and Rudra came from forehead of Brahma in Ardhanarishwar form...
and sexual reproduction started...
@SreeCharan later Shakti given to Brahma was born as Sati and later Parvathi. Shiva's Shakti will always born as human form to marry Rudra or Skankara.
@TheDestroyer @SreeCharan During the Lingodbhavam event also.. Shiva shows Ardhanarishwara form.. Shiva Purana says "Drishtwa Samumaya Saardham Kritaartho Bhunmaya Hari "
@SreeCharan Life span of Parvathi is 6 months of life of Brahma. i.e, 2000 kalpas roughly.
@Tezz when does he show? After Lingodanhava, a brahmin comes to them. He is Shiva in Human form. But he doesn't come in Ardanariswara form.
@Tezz Did you know where it is mentioned "Shiva giving half of his body to Parvati"? I think you asked me this long ago.
05:12
@TheDestroyer see the verse 40...
@Tezz Which Purana?
It is translated as Parvati... but actual Sanskrit verse says Uma...
@TheDestroyer Shiva Purana Rudra Samhita Shristi Khanda chapter 8
Who are they describing? Linga or Brahmana?
I think i missed it. Let me see that chapter.
@TheDestroyer Shiva emerges as Sabda Brahman from that Linga... and Brahma is describing that...
@TheDestroyer "Did you know where it is mentioned "Shiva giving half of his body to Parvati"? I think you asked me this long ago." I still don't know it...
@TheDestroyer Shiva purana chapter 15, 55-56.
05:15
It might be just folktale also...
@Tezz ok. But i think this is not true Ardanariswara. They are describing Shiva at highest level.
@SreeCharan what? Which kanda? Sristi kanda?
@TheDestroyer Ardhanarishwara is defined as highest form /Parabrahman by Vedas... in any case that verse states "Umaya Saardham" with Half (ardha) Uma....
@Tezz Shiva and Shivaa are not seperable. So, Shiva is always in Ardanariswara.
@Tezz ok.
@TheDestroyer yes...
@Tezz ok. Then post answer for that question. I will search Shiva-Parvati Ardnariswara form.
Including Ardanariswara from Vedas
05:20
@TheDestroyer I think you should post answer for that..
@TheDestroyer regarding Vedas I have only one hint upto now...
@TheDestroyer Vidyeswara samhita.
And it is this verse I discuss here.. hinduism.stackexchange.com/questions/12396/…
@TheDestroyer In light of the Sayana commentary in Taittariya Aranyaka that verse is translated as:
@Tezz But i need to know Shiva parvati form.
XXIII-1: Supreme Brahman, the Absolute Reality, has become an
androgynous Person in the form of Umamaheshvara, dark blue and
reddish brown in hue, absolutely chaste and possessing uncommon
eyes. Salutations to Him alone who is the Soul of the universe or whose
form is the universe.
@TheDestroyer and the Manava Shrauta Sutra... a text associated with Yajurveda says "Uma Dehaardha Dhaarinam..."
@TheDestroyer I think you should check in Kurma Purana to get more information about Ardhanarishwara...
@SreeCharan What does it have? those verses talk about Vedas.
@Tezz Ok. I will check.
05:26
@TheDestroyer ^^
@SreeCharan I think it is Rudra Samhita not Vidyeswara Samhita
@SreeCharan that is not chapter 15 of Vidyesvara Samhita.. that is chapter 15 of Rudra Samhita...

A: How were the Trimurthi born?

The DestroyerChapter six and seven of RUDRASAMHITA Section of Shiva Purana describes how Trimurti were born. Brahma said this to his son Narada. At the time of great dissolution when all mobile and immobile of the world are dissolved everything gets enveloped in darkness without the sun, planets and...

@Tezz @TheDestroyer I confused
@SreeCharan That is the same story which me and @Tezz were saying. It happened at beginning of creation.
05:34
@TheDestroyer I understood it. You asked where is it mentioned that Shiva manifested in arthanarishwara form. So, I pointed out verse.
@SreeCharan I asked Tezz.
@SreeCharan @Tezz Will talk to you later. Bye!
@TheDestroyer Ok bye...

@TheDestroyer Can't we remove the advertising portion?
@SreeCharan - Yes , Good Afternoon 😊💐👍
@SwiftPushkar Busy????
@SreeCharan - No not at all 😉
@SreeCharan We shouldn't encourage such answers.
@SwiftPushkar we should straightway delete them.
07:13
@TheDestroyer - ok ,
@SwiftPushkar ohh.. why did i mention you?
How about daughters of shiva answer? @TheDestroyer
@TheDestroyer - haha ,no problem at all😀
@SreeCharan Yes we should delete. He copied the same content from his blog and advertizing it.
@TheDestroyer Yes. He is just copy, pasting the content from his blog without any modifications. I have seen his blog. Every question he asks here, there is a topic there. I am not sure he expects answers from our site.
07:22
@SreeCharan I already voted it to delete.
@TheDestroyer Who other than you has voted to delete?
@SreeCharan Avis is also Telugu user from Hyderabad.

A: Who are the daughters of Lord Shiva? What are their stories?

Devendar AgarwalMany must have heard all the incidents and stories of Lord Shiva but very few are aware about his children. @SwiftPushkar Yes.
@TheDestroyer @SwiftPushkar Delete hammer is active huh?!!!
@TheDestroyer Don't you like when someone intervenes?
@SreeCharan haha.
@TheDestroyer - no , its not like that , but the rate of spam answers are more in 3-4 days and also we have to clear tons of unsourced and spam or wrong answers😊
07:38
@SreeCharan i didn't understand.
@SwiftPushkar I think for spam answers we have clear idea. But i think for unsourced answers we don't have clear guidelines.
@SwiftPushkar official stand for wrong answers on Hinduism SE is not to delete but to just downvote.
or any Stack Exchange site doesn't recommend to delete wrong answers.
@SwiftPushkar For example, see this answer, it cites scriptural references but misinterprets

ajiyIs idol worship really prohibited in Hinduism according to the following verses? Chandogya ch 6 section 2 shloka 1 (GOD is one without ) Shvetashvatara upansihad ch 6 v 9 (Of there GOD there are no lords, have no parents, no superior, no mother, no father, ) Shvetashvatara upansihad ch...

@TheDestroyer - ok , what i mean by clearing is at least ,we can sort those out and Mod & users by discussing , take required action like either converging those to comments etc. or in such a cases as above we can vote , but not necessarily del all 😊
Nov 22 '16 at 15:35, by Keshav Srinivasan
@TheDestroyer I deleted the second answer you mentioned. But the first answer meets the quality standards of the site, even though it's ridiculous and false. But we don't delete answers that are wrong, that's what voting is for.
@TheDestroyer ok👍
@SwiftPushkar Indeed, this is the point Immilind says in "Handling situations" room. He says the answers which misintrepret scriptures shouldn't be deleted. He says his answers belong to above category.
@TheDestroyer - Do you have any idea abut. at the time the site reach graduation , unsourced answers will be deleted , heard somewhere , bur not sure
07:49
@SwiftPushkar don't know. But exact graduation process is unclear.
@SwiftPushkar That will not happen. They will put a banner that's it. If all the unsourced answers are to be deleted, there should be >100 moderators. Who checks each and every answer?
@SreeCharan No need. We can check with query.
@TheDestroyer - ok , but who decides this , and i think HI SE is active for more than 2 years , isn't this is enough or criteria of graduation , i know area 51 norms though
@TheDestroyer There is a query by iammilind data.stackexchange.com/hinduism/query/114513/… . But some users added sources. But the comments are not deleted.
@SreeCharan - yes , correct , but i think after graduation , community will create new own guidelines and strict criteria will be followed , so i think some of the answers might get deleted , as multiple moderators will review each and every q/a ,
07:59
Btw, I think @Swift and @Tezz has similar meanings! Haha
Shivoham = @TheDestroyer Haha
@Pandya haha...
@Pandya - yes 😀👍👍
@Pandya HA HA... 😀
Btw, don't misread the following verse with @:
satyaM satyaM punaH satyaM satyaM satyaM vadAmyaham | nAsti vedAtparaM shAstraM na devaH @keshav AtparaH
Haha.
@Pandya - yes , Satyam shivam sundaram 😊👍 we need to realize ultimate truth (brahman) to achieve salvation.
08:10
@Pandya tatavam asi. Ayam Atma brahma. Aham Brahmasmi. (in reality).
@TheDestroyer Mahavakyas. Yes.
@Pandya did you see it today?
Btw, just flagged as not an answer for hinduism.stackexchange.com/a/10133/277
@Pandya That should be converted to comment.
@TheDestroyer 2 days before.
08:16
@Pandya where exactly is "Sathodara Nagar"?
You were aksing me (to guess) about your location but you updated it on "about" section. I didn't see it on that day. Haha.
@Tezz - yes , even i wasn't aware at first that many mantras , stotras and puja Vidhi's are embedded in puranas , i recently found that out , and surprised , some day i am going to list those stotras out from all the puranas😊👍👍
@Pandya @TheDestroyer - but what abt.the OP is giving ref.of a book ,even though it's not widely known book or concept ..
@SwiftPushkar I think books by swamis are fine, such as Swami Sivananda, Swami Krishnananda. But by historians i'm not sure.
@SwiftPushkar Nice dp of Ganesha, though i like Small Ganesha.
@TheDestroyer When we see your avatar in chatroom, shiva is not clearly visible..
like this photo.
@TheDestroyer - yes , correct 😊 But as India is very vast country and there are so many philosophies and countless regional author's it's really hard for someone from other region to know about beliefs and credibility of some author at that region👍
@TheDestroyer - haha ,yes 👍👍👍👍 baby with dad ,holding him tight with confidence , Bal Ganesh
08:27
@SreeCharan Yeah. User should go to my profile to see clear picture.
@SwiftPushkar Here Ganesha is not so small. Small Ganesha and Kartikeya are cute like little Krishna.
@TheDestroyer - i like this photo too , seen first time and taken👬
@TheDestroyer 1868 profile views. Now I understood the reason..😀
@SreeCharan haha. Keshava has no pic but still he has more visits.
08:31
@TheDestroyer - yes , all the people like gods in baby form with innocent smiling faces😊 like yashoda holding little krishna , Baby ganesha sleeping on leaf , little Rama etc👍👍
I was engaged somewhere.
@SwiftPushkar yes.
@TheDestroyer Do you mean where Sathodara Nagar usually found?
@TheDestroyer - I admire those artists , they make gods alive , without them ,no proper emotions could develop in our minds about gods😊
08:34
@SreeCharan Why Gods are depicted with Garland of flowers in traditional photos?
@Pandya No you asked me to guess your exact location in Saurastra. But location is present in your about section which i didn't see.
@SwiftPushkar 😊 <- this smiley is your siganture...😀
@TheDestroyer oh! I've not written exact location in about me section.
@SreeCharan - haha ,yes , its the most used smily by me 😀👍👍
@Pandya About section of Chat "Sathodara Nagar, Trisquel GNU/Linux-Libre User."
@TheDestroyer Don't know. I think it is a respect to Gods by the artists.
08:39
@TheDestroyer ok. Yes, so?
@Pandya ok. Leave it. You forgot it seems.
@TheDestroyer Have you remembered I had given hint for predicting the location? "Girnar" I think you've not searched about it. Let me clear now:
Girnar, also known as Girinagar or Revatak Pravata, is a group of mountains in the Junagadh District of Gujarat, India, situated near Junagadh. Older than the Himalayas, Girnar, the mountain and its range are considered sacred. It is an important pilgrimage site for both Jains and Hindus, who gather here during the Girnar Parikrama festival. Girnar is significant among Shiva devotees for the mystic space-time of the mountain range with the known presence and turnover of different sects of Sadhu Babas, Nath sect, different Jain Tirthankaras to Girnar, its typical flora and fauna, and the Mah...
@Pandya I seached but didn't get any useful information.
@TheDestroyer Haven't you found the city or district mentioned in above Wikipedia page?
Still cuter :P
@SreeCharan
08:45
@TheDestroyer Yes. But it's animation. I like chubby gods. :P
@SwiftPushkar This might be how Ganesha looks in reality.
@TheDestroyer - yes , like Rudra-Ganesha , i think the mouse should be somewhat less fearce as it looks like mount of some demonic form , like how garuda always is portrayed
@TheDestroyer Where do you get these images? your avatar too. Unique.
@SwiftPushkar I used to wonder how Ganesha can fit on "Mooshika". This picture shows another way of depiction.
@SreeCharan deviantart.
@SreeCharan Wanna see Kalki?
Devinantart has very good collections.
@TheDestroyer - yes , and also heard another theory from here that he is destroyer of harmful mice , like elephants in wild drove excessive mice population away by crushing them etc.but want to know exactly why mouse is his mount
08:52
@TheDestroyer There where two separate discussion on separate day in which 1)Was about location for which I've given hint & 2)Was about your assumption that I might be related to Pandya group of south India. On response of which I've clarified Pandya - Nagar which associated with Gujarat. And the clarification through about me was related to second discussion. I mean Wikipedia link gives idea about region.
I hope I haven't forgotten.
@Pandya ok.
@TheDestroyer anyway, have you got the city/location?
@Pandya Junagadh??? जुनागढ़
@SreeCharan exactly!
@Pandya Junagadh. Lol
08:56
@TheDestroyer Haha. Yes /cc @KeshavSrinivasan @Tezz ^^
@Pandya then what is "Sathodara Nagar"?
@TheDestroyer Are you familiar with (about) : Nagar?
@Pandya Ohh..it says it is related to Nagara Khanda. Did you read Nagara khanda? It describes Nagara people.
Also, one of the most famous Khanda of SKanda Purana.
@TheDestroyer No, I've not read. I'm missing that.
@Pandya I can mail you if you want. You must read it. Are you Nagara Brahmin?
09:02
@TheDestroyer btw, there are 6 sub group of Nagar related to region and Sathodara is one of them.
@Pandya In annexation of our states,(Hyderabad and Junagadh) important role was played by Sardar Vallabhbhai patel.
@Pandya Ok. Can change Nagar to Sanskrit "Nagara"? I thought it was area.
@TheDestroyer Yes, you can mail me though I prefer Sanskrit+Hindi. (And yes, I've said many times that I am Sathodara Nagara; about me also mentions)
@Pandya - Yes , nagar looks more as suburb
@SwiftPushkar I too thought the same.
09:05
@SreeCharan Vallabhai Patel was great fighter and politician but most underrated. If Nehru had listened to Patel's words, there would have no Kashmir problem.
@TheDestroyer Yes. Problems with china too.
@TheDestroyer - yes , now it's changing .. he was iron man of india 👍👍 new policies are bringing out long forgotten imp people.
@SwiftPushkar Yes. Iron man of India.
@SwiftPushkar Read it as नागर not नगर /cc @SreeCharan @TheDestroyer
@Pandya Okay.
09:08
@SwiftPushkar Yes. Congress was busy in emphazing fake "Gandhi " family but forgotten Patel's legacy.
@SreeCharan Yes.
@Pandya But still Sathodara Nagar looks like suburb or name of a locality.
@TheDestroyer @Pandya @SreeCharan - BTW. Maharashtra gov.today banned any idol puja and festival celebration , religious functions in schools , wht u people think?
@SwiftPushkar Why banned?
@Pandya - oh , ok , it was reading mistake then , ok👍
09:11
@SwiftPushkar Why?
@TheDestroyer - someone objected , and secular nature of constitution...
@SwiftPushkar This is bad. Secularism is most misused term in India.
@SwiftPushkar People also celebrate Christmas in Schools.
@SwiftPushkar Celebrate christmas, sing carols, then it's ok. It is secular. Say "OM" loudly in schools, there come pseudo-secularists taking the name of RSS and BJP.
@Pandya I think this book is fine.
@SwiftPushkar seems shocking to me
09:15
But few pages are missing. Nagara is at end.
@SreeCharan True. They don't want to recite OM during Yoga too.
@SwiftPushkar Did Government or Hightcourt ban it ?
@TheDestroyer - yes , and it's school itself , where child learns about beliefs and gods and Tradiations although its not part of any cariculam , but functions like Guru pounima Vyasa pounima , sankranti , Haldi-kunku , Navaratri , saraswati pujan , ganesh pujan makes grt.impact on children's mind ,since that age.
@TheDestroyer Thanks for finding it for me.
@SwiftPushkar Yes.
@TheDestroyer - Gov. orderd it.
@SwiftPushkar Why did BJP gov do it?
09:19
@The @SwiftPushkar @Pandya Do you know Rajkumar hirani, director of PK and 3 idiots changed his son's school because the former school was celebrating only HINDU FESTIVALS AND NOT CHRISTMAS AND OTHER. IF HE IS SECULAR HE SHOULDN'T COMBINE SCHOOL WITH RELIGION and he lectures us about god and religion in his movies.
@TheDestroyer oh! ok btw, looks poor quality.
@SreeCharan That Guy will go to Naraka and live there for a Kalpa for insulting Lord Shiva in PK movie. He wantedly insulted Shiva. There's no need to make Shiva (the guy in Shiva's costume) to hide under chair. He prolongated the scene and insulted Shiva.
@SreeCharan - ok :)
@SreeCharan Kaliyuga Vaiparithyam.
@SwiftPushkar don't they (schools) sing prayer everyday?
09:24
@swiftpushkar "ban on idol worship" is it secularism or Islam?
@TheDestroyer Cool. Don't waste your tapas shakthi by cursing idiots like him.
@SreeCharan Those ignorants don't know that we worship "God through idols".
@Pandya - Yes ,only marathi schools do so , like Gayatri mantra , OM chanting , but don't know exactly how much or which schools carry this tradition , but when i was in school , they used to held compititions like Gita Pathan etc. we used to recite Ya kunde tushar haar in those days , and gayatri.
But condiation of marathi language and Marathi Tradiations and Hindu beliefs here is worse in general , eveyone wants to showoff there western manners 😀
@SreeCharan Yeah. I will loose some portion of shakti acquired by chanting Sri Rudram if i curse them.
@SwiftPushkar they can oppose/protest such rule by gov. I think.
@SwiftPushkar Yes. Everywhere same. For middle class Indians , Westernizing is great thing.
@SreeCharan Still, "Dyavudaa" is worst movie. Did you see trailer?
09:30
@SwiftPushkar :(
I think we need one Shankaracharya or Vivekananda today!
@SreeCharan
@SwiftPushkar @Pandya you too see how Kali is growing?
@TheDestroyer That ***** should be killed. I have seen it on YT. remove it.
@Pandya - yes , but more than that we need "Kalki" today 😀
I think today's Shankaracharyas (of 4 peeth) have been failing to protect our Vedic Dharma & culture. What do you think? /cc @Tezz @KeshavSrinivasan
@SreeCharan YSR died when he wanted to construct church on tirumala hills. Rudra Konda is part of Tirumala hills where his helicopter got hit and crashed. God must punish such people immediately. Else, Adharma will rise.
@Pandya I agree. But they blame our Education system.
09:39
@TheDestroyer Yes, our education system is also not proper though.
@Pandya When today's shankaracharyas and jeeyars speak about politics and adharma, people (especially media) appear from nowhere saying Why do monks speak about society and politics? They should move to forests and do penance Ignorant peope and media.
@Pandya British were highly successful in replacing Sanskrit Gurukula Education with their System.
i think its because pressure from US , not to encourage religion , religious views etc , but they forget that Hindu Dharma never attacked anyone , and always was and will support non violence , they are comparing all in same manner , there are no terrorist among Hindu-people
@Pandya Reviving Sanskrit can only save our Vedic Dharma.
@SwiftPushkar Their Human Right organizations are fraudsters to disintergrate other countries.
@TheDestroyer - yes :)
Day today sanskrit sentences and convetsation , but its in pure sanskrit ⬆
09:47
@SwiftPushkar Good find.
@Pandya Are cricketers Hardik pandya and krunal pandya also Naagar brahmins?
@SreeCharan - yes , thanks , i am also learning sanskrit , i have given 2 exams in school , but can't remember anything now , only i can read and interpret some sentences 😀👍👍
@SwiftPushkar Yes. Even i'm learning Sanskrit.
Btw, I've one sentence in praise of our site: Vacharambhanam Vikaro (xyz.SE) Namadheyam Mrittiketyeva (Hinduism.SE) Satyam! Haha /cc @Tezz @KeshavSrinivasan
@Pandya Meaning...
@SreeCharan They are Brahmin but I'm not sure whether they're Naagar or not.
09:52
@Pandya ohh..you know more Sanskrit
@TheDestroyer - yes ,👍👍👍👍

2 hours later…
11:25
@SwiftPushkar yes, there are many mantras and stotras hidden in Puranas...
@Tezz - yes :)

2 hours later…
13:36
@TheDestroyer I think you know more Sanskrit than me as you've already started to learn Sanskrit.
@SreeCharan It is from Chhandogya Upanishad.

@Tezz Here's a paper that was just published last week concerning what relation the Sankarsha Kanda text that was discovered might have to the Devata Kanda Sutras: gdurl.com/0mAl

@TheDestroyer Is the following sentence grammatically proper?
> Actually sun, moons are illuminated by the supreme self so they can't illuminate Brahman.
which I'm using in this answer.
@SwiftPushkar Namaste
@KeshavSrinivasan You've quoted Adi Shankaracharya Bhashya and I've quoted Ramanujacharya's Haha.
@Pandya - हाँ , जी , नमस्ते , खाना हो गया क्या ? मेरा 10 बजे ...
@Pandya Haha, actually I quoted both.
@SwiftPushkar yes
@KeshavSrinivasan oh! I see...
@KeshavSrinivasan actually I've concentrated on following sentences from Question:
> By this sloka Lord Krishna implies that which is eternal or indestructible is independent upon the material constituents, for humans it is impossible to think of a world that is not lit by sun, moon, fire or electricity.
> If not by sun, moon or fire then what illuminates the param dhama ?
@KeshavSrinivasan Btw, what do you think about BG 8.21 I quoted?
17:09
@TheDestroyer - Tomorrow in parade MH Theme is "Lokmanya Tilak" , Wht's AP theme ?
@SwiftPushkar I think Andhra has no such theme.
@TheDestroyer -but how come ? every State has to participate and to show part of its history/Tradiation/cultute etc , you people not participated this year?
@SwiftPushkar `don't know. We participated last year.
@TheDestroyer - ok 😊👍
17:42
@KeshavSrinivasan I think you may know the poem "Bhootam sarascha mahadahvaya bhattanatha..." written by Parasara bhattar. In that poem, Why didn't Parasara bhattar include Andal?
@KeshavSrinivasan what does the "supreme light" mean in the Ramanujacharya's commentary?
@Pandya Is it gitabhashya?
