@Tezz अहं गीतम् शृणुवामि |

In this verse I want to know which sanskrit words are referring to Syllable of OM?
@SwiftPushkar Me too!!

@KrishnShweta Pranava

7:26 AM
@SreeCharan Pranava means Syllable OM or simply OM?

@KrishnShweta - here is another tranlation -
रसोऽहमप्सु कौन्तेय प्रभास्मि शशिसूर्ययोः।
प्रणवः सर्ववेदेषु शब्दः खे पौरुषं नृषु।।7.8।।

O son of Kuntī, I am the taste of water, the light of the sun and the moon, the syllable oṁ in the Vedic mantras; I am the sound in ether and ability in man.

@SreeCharan गीतं या गीतायां ?...

@KrishnShweta Pranava means OM. It is a sound. It has no literary meaning. All the mantras are sounds(shabdas). Thereare other manras too Bijas etc., But Lord is OM.

@SwiftPushkar Hmm.....
@SreeCharan Bija means seed right?

@Tezz एक गीतम् पुनः पुनः शृणुवामि | :)

7:31 AM
@SreeCharan meaning? :)

Q: What is the story of Nara and Narayana's brothers Hari and Krishna?

Keshav SrinivasanAs I discuss in this question, one of the most prominent incarnations of Vishnu in ancient times was the sage Narayana, twin brother of the sage Nara and son of Yama god of death. Nara and Narayana were famous for engaging in Tapasya (deep meditation) in Badrikashrama, and in the time of the Mah...

@SwiftPushkar Ha Ha.. I skipped answer to Keshav's question too. We can revisit it later if it is still unreviewed. Giving correct review is better than answering every review- This is what I believe.

@KrishnShweta chat.stackexchange.com/search?room=38640&q=accha 'Accha'... 😀😀
@KrishnShweta verily they are moderators...😀😀😀😀

@Tezz lol
@Tezz Hmm...

@Tezz @TheDestroyer @SreeCharan @KrishnShweta - In Maharashtra Tripura Sundari name is not much popular but we use "MahaLaxhumi ,MahaSaraswati " more frequently😊

7:54 AM
@KeshavSrinivasan @TheDestroyer @Pandya The following question is framed incorrectly.
hinduism.stackexchange.com/questions/17480/what-are-the-names-of-conch-shell-sha‌nkh-used-by-the-warriors-in-mahabharata
read my comment

@SreeCharan - Yeah he also haven't responded , i wonder where is he from some day's , 😮

@SwiftPushkar The name Tripura Sundari is not so famous... we mostly use the names like Durga, Shakti etc...

@TheDestroyer That question is not duplicate. OP wants to know about shaktipeetha

@ChinmayaB - ho +1 maze aahe😉
@Tezz - Yes , same like us , and for Bal-Tripur sundari we use the term "Kumarika" , and worship little girls 👯🙏
@Tezz - Also Bhavani ,Amba are popular names of devi here in my state , we have 3 & 1/2 ,shakti-peethas in my state.😊

@SwiftPushkar Yes, Bhavani, Ambika, Kãli are popular names...

8:02 AM
@ChinmayaB User Ganesh copy pasted tex from the link you posted. Looks like user Ganesh is author of the article you linked.

@SreeCharan Ok. Let him clarify.
May be he wanted to show image of Goddess.
@Tezz We use Lalitha Tripura Sundari. Lalitha Sahasranamam is famous here. We use Durgamma or Ammavaru (mother).

Anybody knows abut shree Krishnas charioteer "Daruka" , Wht's his story ,who was he in previous birth , how he got the privilege of becoming Shree Krishna's sarathi ?
@TheDestroyer - Yes , i think over there you people use "Amma" word and we use"Aie" (आई) both are equivalent or same words 😊

8:18 AM
@SwiftPushkar Yes. Amma is Telugu and Tamil word for Amba which means mother.

@TheDestroyer Yes, Lalita Sahasranama is also famous here...

@TheDestroyer - "Mata Anandamayi" is known here she is also called "Amma" , here pravachanas of her are very popular
* sorry mata Amritanandamayi not Anandamayi , confusion 😮
@TheDestroyer @Tezz @SreeCharan - BTW , i dislike the way how some people put garland of money over the god's idols , what you people think?

Q: Reference of any god being brahmin (by caste)

PritamIs there any reference(for ex. wears Janoi) in any Vedas or in any other book that describes God as brahmin (by caste)? One reference I found in Hanuman Chalisa is, हाथ बज्र औ ध्वजा बिराजै । काँधे मूँज जनेउ साजै ॥५॥

Vaman Avatara of Vishnu 😀

8:42 AM
@SwiftPushkar Parasurama and Kalki too 😀

@TheDestroyer - Oh ,yes 😊👍👍👍👍

@SwiftPushkar Yes, I do not also like people making garland of money and keeping in idols...

@Tezz - Yeah , the Alankaras or ornaments are ok , but not hard money as mala😊

@SwiftPushkar Yeah. Mala of money is not good.

@Tezz - BTW , nice answer bur also do add some physical propeties of time also if found eg.flow of time in one direction , and time is unstoppable or ever flowing , everybody is bound by time etc.

8:52 AM
@SwiftPushkar I think Vedas do not go that detail while describing time...

@Tezz This line is awesome "Some learned men speak of the inherent nature of things and some speak of time, as the cause of the universe. They all, indeed, are deluded"
"They all, indeed, are deluded"

@TheDestroyer haha... yes😀😀
@TheDestroyer ' inherent nature of things ' = 'explanation from physics.'

@Tezz - Yeah , i searched too ,but only got info. that the concept of puranic time is derrived from vedas , searced rug-veda but couldn't found that thing , i think puranas are describing time more elaborately but don't know from where puranas are quoting.😊

@SwiftPushkar Pushkar ata parat +1 kar
@SreeCharan I've removed that part form the comment

@ChinmayaB - 😀😀👍👍

8:59 AM
@SwiftPushkar kai re bhagwat madhye fakta ekcha shlok aahe ka nara narayana karta?

@SwiftPushkar the reason why Vedas speak only little in everything is because... Vedic statements are like equations....

@ChinmayaB - Mi 2 shloka dilet tula

And they are true for all time...

@Tezz - yeah , 100% similar to what i think , i know that concept 😊👍👍👍👍
@Tezz - They are equations ,we have to make different combinations of those equations to unlok the realities 😊

@SwiftPushkar are dada mala watla purna adhyaya asel. Troll nako karuch maal
mala*

9:05 AM
@TheDestroyer But closing the question is early.

@ChinmayaB - पाहतो परत , जरा वेळ दे मला , आता भागवतं नाही जवळ

@SwiftPushkar Ho thike mzhya zawal pan aahe Sanskrit to Hindi bhagwat

@ChinmayaB - ho tu mala vicharla hota ha prashna , mi ekda photo dila hota ans.madhe ,tu vicharla hota ki , he marathi aahe ka mahnun , mala aathavta aahe 😊
Regarding The book in the image, is it Marathi version of Bhagwad Purana published by Gita press Gorakhpur? — Yogi Oct 24 '16 at 19:06

@SwiftPushkar Ho tu student aahes ka?

@ChinmayaB - Nahi , mi hoto 😀

9:16 AM
@SwiftPushkar okay job?

9:35 AM

Q: Official policy for deleting answers that don't cite sources

The DestroyerAs discussed in this question, most of the users agree with rule of backing up answers with sources. Now comes the question, what is official criteria for deleting answers that don't cite sources? Two possible cases arise. Answers of new users and active users (including answers of all unreg...

12:08 PM
@TheDestroyer I think we should convert the answers to community wiki if they are answerable or delete if its trash answer.

@ChinmayaB I didn't get. Which answers ?

12:49 PM
@TheDestroyer Answers without references

2 hours later…
3:01 PM
@TheDestroyer Some answers without source shouldn't be deleted. Which give sources like Purana name. First place a citation banner. Then wait for some days say 1 month(based on activity of user). If there is no response, delete.
There is another kind. Simply claim something in the answer, they should be converted to comment after giving some time.
What did you think about below ?
6 hours ago, by Sree Charan
@TheDestroyer But closing the question is early.
@TheDestroyer

@SreeCharan They will be converted to comments if they have useful content. I initially thought of 1 month time but it was too long to handle. So, chose 1 week and 15 days. You can give your opinion as answer. Anyways, i want suggestions and improvemnts of all of you.
@SreeCharan It was clear. He wants to know who is tripura Sundari not about temple. If he wanted to know about temple, he would edit the question.

@TheDestroyer 15 days fine. Framing answer needs time for me. I may answer tomorrow.

@SreeCharan Ok. Blatantly unrelated unsourced answers are removed immediately. But if they have useful content, they are converted to comments if they don't have sources.

@TheDestroyer I didn't see that he accepted the answer. But don't know what he meant he is just a high schooler. I still think that he was thinking about shaktipeetham.

@SreeCharan He wanted to know who the diety was. Not particularly about Shakti Peeta.

3:09 PM
@TheDestroyer Yeah. Deity at that temple. Did the accepted answer discuss it? I think no.

@SreeCharan He wanted to know who she was. Name itself says tripura sundari. Why do we need Shakti Peeta legend?

@TheDestroyer The OP linked below page
Tripura Sundari Temple is situated in the ancient Udaipur, about 55 km from Agartala, Tripura believed to be one of the holiest Hindu shrines in this part of the country. Popularly known as Matabari, crowns in a small hillock and is served by the red-robed priests who traditionally, minister to the mother goddess Tripura Sundari. Considered to be one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, consists of a square type sanctum of the typical Bengali hut. It is believed that Sati's right foot fell here during Lord Shiva's Dance. The temple consist a square type sanctum with a conical dome. It was constructed ...
Even there is a page for Lalita tripura sundari.
Tripurāsundarī (त्रिपुरा सुंदरी - "Beautiful (Goddess) of the Three Cities") or Mahā-Tripurasundarī ("Great Beautiful (Goddess) of the Three Cities"), also called Ṣhoḍaśhi ("Sixteen"), Lalitā ("She Who Plays"), Lilavati/Leelavati (Playful, Charming), Lilavani/Leelavani (Having Playful, Charming Speech and Eloquence), Lilamati/Leelamati (Having a Playful, Charming Mind), Lalitambika (Playful, Charming Mother), Lileshi/Leeleshi, Lileshwari/Leeleshwari (Goddess of Divine Play), and Rājarājeśvarī ("Queen of Queens, Supreme Ruler"), is one of a group of ten goddesses of Hindu belief, collectively called...

@SreeCharan He just wanted to know who that diety is. For example, if a foreigner saw Kashi Vishwanath temple, if he links Kashi Temple and asks who is diety (mentions who is Shiva in title). Do we answer about Shiva or Kashi Vishwanath?

@TheDestroyer Who is our state goddess actually? is this question answered?

@SreeCharan Ok. Ask OP if you have doubts. I will reopen if he wants legend of temple too. He just wanted to know who is tripura Sundari, like above example of foreigner i quoted.

3:24 PM
@TheDestroyer I think I tested your patience.

3:35 PM
@SreeCharan@TheDestroyer@Tezz@AnkitSharma Hai friends

@SreeCharan haha. No.
@Sakthi Hi.

@Sakthi Vanakkam Nanban!

@TheDestroyer what is the difference between freedom,independence,liberty
@SreeCharan Vanakkam do you know tamil (or) do you use the google translater
@TheDestroyer many sites i searched but i cannot find correct differences

@Sakthi You got me. I search the net for phrases.

@SreeCharan ok try to answer the question i asked

3:40 PM
@Sakthi which question?

@SreeCharan what is the difference between freedom,independence,liberty

@Sakthi You want it from politics perspective?

@SreeCharan in todays life many woman talk about our hindu scriptures that it does not give freedom to woman and it makes them like slave. So I thought that there must be a difference in these words
@SreeCharan i want in common manner and No political as it gives about country and other country

4:10 PM
@Sakthi Sanskrit word "Swatantra" (independence) changed its meaning after India's independence (1947). Previously, father used to take care of girl before marriage and thereafter husband after marriage. It's moreover "Protection" rather than "restricting freedom". So, Manusmriti says in this context. But it is misinterpreted now.

4:47 PM
@Tezz How shipivistha is Vishnu?

@Tezz - I honesty feel that , there is no difference in those Hymn's & today's science experiments , borh are carried out for good outcome of humanity .And what factor's changed in 5000 years , Gravity is same , density of water is same , universe is same , so i think there is no difference in understanding of Universe btw.those people and us , only we are seeing them as ancient philosophy's & beliefs😊👍

@SwiftPushkar Vedas are truths for all times. Hence they are eternal.

@TheDestroyer - Namaskaram , bro 😊👍👍💐

@SwiftPushkar Namaskaram!

@TheDestroyer - Yes , very truth 😊👍👍

Q: What are the main differences and similarities between the christian heaven and moksha

malenehjeThey seem like they are very different, but are there any similarities, for example how to get there? Also what are the biggest differences. Also what does it mean to a hindu to achieve moksha, how much of a priority is it compared to christianity.

Totally messed answer ,according to christianity Heaven where after final judgement one will receive full enjoyment forever , but according to Hinduism ,Swarga or Heaven is not final destination , but "Moksha" is 😀😀

4:55 PM
@Sakthi hi... how are you?..

@SwiftPushkar Yeah.

@TheDestroyer Sipivishta is the name given to Vishnu by Yajurveda... YajurVeda many times tell 'Vishnu: Sipivishta' ie. 'Vishnu is Sipivishta.'

@Tezz what's the meaning?

@SwiftPushkar Yes, you are right...
@TheDestroyer Sipivishta and Vishnu have same meaning... Sipivishta also means who is pervasive... literally it means 'light' ..
@TheDestroyer शिपिविष्टाय- (as per the Vedic passage ‘विष्णुः शिपिविष्टः’) Prostration to Parameswara in the form of Vishnu.

@Tezz Ok. pervaded by rays. Shipi = light. Rudra is girisha, Shipivishta and Meedustama .
Yes.
Anuvaka 5

5:04 PM
@TheDestroyer yes... there is hint of Brahma Vishnu and Rudra in the same place in that verse...

@Tezz Yes. Three are one and same.

@TheDestroyer Yeah... 😀😀

5:22 PM
@TheDestroyer @Tezz @Seeker - Will take your leave now BYE GN , TC 😊💐😴🌛

8:35 PM
@TheDestroyer Is there any way to OCR the Sanskrit in these two images?
@TheDestroyer I tried Google Drive but it produced gibberish.
@TheDestroyer To be clear, I'm not interested in OCRing the Sanskrit verses, I'm interested in OCRing the Sanskrit words that are interspersed with the English words.
