@goldPseudo I posted a comment here: islam.stackexchange.com/questions/25048/…
it's been deleted. Could you find out the reason.
It was perfectly on topic.
Or could you explain why it was removed. I am not particular fond of questions like those nor do they have a place on this site.
03:53
@masfenix I deleted that comment because it didn't look in any way constructive.
it looked like an attempt to push Truth, which is not what comments are for.
if you don't think the question belonged on the site, bring that up in meta. or earn enough reputation that you can actually vote to close it yourself.
04:31
@goldPseudo I did flag it. The question was not asking for the historical significance of keeping slaves. His scenario at the end is what I have a concern with. He is essentially asking if its okay to do so now. Even if it has an answer islamically, there is no reason our website should be advocating this. Thousands of people come to this website and some naïve enough to believe that its okay practice to keep war slaves in current society.
Close the question, don't delete the comments.
You get answers like this "In my opinion, slavery is a necessity to a modern world,"
This isn't about playing by the rules and me bringing it up in meta. I posted a comment there saying that this question is essentially invalid and no answer should really be given to it.
If you think downvoting the answer is sufficient, its not. If you want the community to mod the website by using voting tools provided by the network, then you can't delete comments either. If my comment was indeed an attack or not constructive, the community would've flagged it. So did the community flag it which prompted you to delete it?
04:50
@masfenix I am part of this community too. I considered it non-constructive. So now it is gone.
I paid attention to that post because of a flag, and took what action I felt best.
But flag or not, I vote as I see fit.
05:45
@goldPseudo Yes you are, and you've abused your powers quite a bit. Let the community deal with it. It's surprising to me that the post was flagged and you saw nothing wrong with the post but my comment?
@goldPseudo Please undelete my comment if you can.
06:34
Infact I distinctly remember having my comment voted up by someone. It had a number 1 beside it. So the community did not think it needed to be deleted, it was not flagged. You deleted it based on your discretion and your powers as a moderator. I expect the comment back.

If you disagree with any decision made by the community, which includes the mods, take it to Islam Meta, @masfenix . Chat is not a good place for such discussions for plenty of reasons while meta is the most appropriate. I also suggest you take time to go through some relevant meta discussions. And try to make a compelling and cogent argument.

@BleedingFingers I disagree with it but I am not taking it to Islam Meta. Chat is a perfectly fine place to talk about it. In fact, it should be @goldPseudo who should've taken it to meta and asked the community if it was okay to remove/delete an upvoted comment. His view of how this site should run, what is acceptable or not, what constitutes a rude remark is not the same as everyone else. There are instances where he's made rude remarks as well (and yes I have flagged it).
If you go to islam meta, and just search "power", there are lots of posts on how he's been abusing his powers. Bottom line, he needs to go. I am gonna search around the SE network to see how moderators work, if they are elected, hired or appointed, and how we can get a new one.
All the posts on the meta regarding his abuse of power has been downvoted heavily (possibly by him and those who support him). See
@goldPseudo Next time, don't delete my comments. They were perfectly fine and if you can't comprehend simple logical statements, come talk to me before you delete them.
16:18
@masfenix No.
You have yet to present a single compelling argument as to how your comment was at all constructive.
At best, all you've done is disagree with me and try to shift the burden of proof. I'll tell you right now, that is exactly the opposite of compelling as far as I'm concerned.
I already claimed your comment was non-constructive, and that it looked like an attempt to push Truth; neither of which is what comments are designed for.
I am willing to defend those claims on meta if you can be bothered to ask there, but I will not defend myself on chat.
16:38
@goldPseudo I am not trying to shift the burden of proof. I don't even know what I posted, because you deleted it. My proof? The fact that it was upvoted shows that the community did think it was constructive. So I am not sure why YOU thought it was not constructive. It wasn't an attempt to push "Truth" at all. I would imagine that since it was upvoted, you should've flagged it and either brought it to meta or talked with the other moderators. R
Right now as it stands, it looks like you think you have the perfect definition of what constructive it. I know the definition of constructive as well. So next time, please don't delete my comments. (and as a side remark, you should consider not posting rude and sarcastic remarks).
I will eventually bring up a meta post after I accumulate enough evidence. This post wouldn't be about this particular comment, but your blatant abuse of power.
Don't delete my comments next time. If you feel like they are not constructive, bring it to meta or flag it and let the other mods deal with it. It's very clear to me that you absolutely have no idea what actually provides value or what a constructive comment even means.
16:57
@masfenix Do you know what happens when a moderator flags a comment?
IT GETS DELETED
I am not going to go to meta to decide whether or not I should flag a thing: If I see something that doesn't belong on the site, and I have the power to remove it, I will do so.
If you want me to stop flagging non-constructive comments, (a) stop posting non-constructive comments, (b) convince the community to flag other non-constructive comments before I need to.
i'm done talking about this here. if you want to discuss this, take it to meta.
` and I have the power to remove it, I will do so.` How exactly do you decide if something dosnt belong on the site? How exactly did you determine my comment was non-constructive? Because as far as I am aware, it got a single upvote, which means a lot. In other words, there are two people that thought the comment was constructive and one person (you) that thought it was. Majority wins. Please undelete the comment now
@goldPseudo I told you, I am not taking it to meta because that's not the right place for it. If you've accused me of breaking the site rules, you must prove my guilt otherwise I am innocent. To this end, you need to clarify how you determine what belongs on the site and what doesn't. Its not YOUR site.
I flagged one of your comments that I thought was not constructive. Did you delete that one also? I am sure its somewhere in your mod history.
@goldPseudo If not, do you really think everything you post is constructive and everything someone else posts is open to scrutiny?
I am not wasting my time anymore either. You've obviously made up your mind that you are in the right here and I am the one who's wrong.
Next time don't delete my comments, bring it to meta. Always, because I'd like to see your soundless justfications.
They are my comments. I've been part of SE community for 6 years now. I know exactly how comments work.
17:24
@masfenix Meta is 100% the correct place for this. You've been told this twice now. I'm telling you a third time.
Your chat privileges have been suspended. If you wish to continue this discussion, take it to meta as you were previously urged to.
