Q: iTunes Store Sign in Failure: "%%appleId%%"

dwightkIn the past two days I've tried to make an in app purchase in two apps (removing ads for both Sudoku Master Edition and Wordscapes.) I've successfully made purchases in the past, but not with these apps, and both times yesterday and today I've gotten an odd failure. I'm using an iPhone XS Max. H...

Don’t be bashful if yours is the correct one. I’d love it if you chose an accepted one tomorrow timeframe if that works for you. No worries if you’re on the fence or just don’t have an opinion or don’t want to commit here
The main point of the bounty is served - I want to get it to 3k views and 10 up votes if possible. A lot of people are going to see this error unless Apple solves it with an update.

What I did (but failed): I am turning on my open app indicator in the system preference. I have tried to remove ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist When I move the dock...

The OS wants to draw a dot, captures the dot being drawn from the frame buffer of what's supposed to be on screen, but it's not actually on screen.
I wonder if it's a low contrast / accessibility control that gets mapped after the "printing" screen buffer is assembled.

@nohillside That’s a very interesting thought, I’d not thought about those new protections. Something downloaded from Apple helps it access the phone makes that even more interesting though, I wonder what that could possibly be
@bmike Indeed, tried the ‘update’ but that failed, so I restore with 12.1.4 and restored my encrypted iTunes backup. Shame I missed the signing window for 12.1.1b3 by only a couple of days.
