That's impressive, @Lordofdark
I came back with a puzzle without its solution.
I always loved the board game Blokus, maybe the "Blokus Commitment" can become a series.
Why do you care about these 2 exact cases in your puzzle ?
for the n=10 case, I will place the 4 coloured pieces in a symmetrical fashion to fill the 20x20 board.
and I believe it would look pretty
and for the (3,20), it's easier to try on a real board.
Maybe (4,20) would be possible, but way more tedious as it uses all but 9 of the blocks.

Q: The Confused Idiom

Gordon Allocmanmy friend was trying to tell me an idiom he heard, but I think it got lost in translation. What he ended up telling me was this: Bread makeup Not harmful Obviously 525600s Can you guys figure out what idiom he was trying to tell me?

13:11
You friend is drunk @GordonAllocman
"lost in translation"
I have that feeling that you went on google trad, started with a word and translate form on language to another until you end up with 525600s
the other words are just steps of this process
don't take "lost in translation" too literally, just a phrase
also that would be absurd to go from an idiom to a number with only 4 translates
Oh I was assume you did a lot of translations between the steps ^^

ayooo
Hey Gordon, is it meant to be 525600s and not 525600m? Just checking, since the second one has a common alternate meaning.
meant to be 525600s, though the s might not necessarily mean what you think it means
Gotcha, thanks.
Working on this one

Q: Brooklyn 99 riddle: Weighing Islanders

emdeeThis one comes from this week's Brooklyn Nine-Nine episode! There is an island with 12 islanders. All of the islanders individually weigh exactly the same amount, except for one, who either weighs more or less than the other 11. You must use a see-saw to figure out whose weight is different, a...

Q: Misheard and Obscured

Gordon AllocmanMy friend was trying to tell me an idiom he heard, but I think it got lost in translation. What he ended up telling me was this: Bread makeup Not harmful Obviously 525600s Can you guys figure out what idiom he was trying to tell me? Note: As it has caused some confusion, everythin...

obviously... duh... the....??? if that jogs anyone else's minds for the other parts :P
you may be onto something there
i have blanks on the other parts
other than yeast sounding like at least
though 525600s keeps reminding me of seasons of love :)
even though its not seconds
I made a comment on that part earlier in chat

"I simply transcribed exactly what he said to me" seems a little misleading now
oh, your friend was the one that misheard it, nvm
nice work on my reverse puzzle @ffao !!
I just put together what everyone else said
seems to be what I'm good at :P
nvm I realize why they asked that
20:16
maybe the "lost in translation" part ^^
yeah I realized after the fact :3
I'm probably going to post some sequels to this question since I like the concept and I think people seem to like it (we will see once it is solved though)
