@Ghanima - Is it possible to maintain several different installed cards, to repurpose a Rasp Pi (version 3) depending on what you want to do at that moment?
I'm thinking of an OSMC card, a retropie card, and an ubuntu card.
I cannot think of a reason as to why not, other than wear and tear of the SD card slot
actually it has been asked and discussed before

A: Can I use a Raspberry Pi with two different sd cards as two different computers?

GhanimaYou can use your Raspberry Pi with different SD cards and thus different Operating Systems in turns. Obviously you will have to power down the Pi and physically change the SD card first but other than that there is no problem with this approach. The only possible issue is the wear of the contac...

three diamonds, eh? So you're the Chuck Norris of StackExchange :)
or maybe Rory is
@Ghanima Only in that I mod martial arts. :) there are others that have many more diamonds than I do, ChrisF, Rory, anongoodnurse, a few others.
Greetings, Lord Vader
@JohnP but yeah, nothing wrong in having different cards for different purposes... other than one has to change them
I am not quite sure about the benefits of OSMC over any other "general purpose" distribution with kodi on top

@Ghanima Me either, it just seems to be the one with the most guides that I can see, and being a linux nooblet, guides are good.
be sure to join RPi and keep us posted with good questions and answers :)
@Ghanima As soon as I have them I will. Most of them will be the "Uh,...how did I jack this up?" type I'm sure. :)
most of our questions are that type
oh good, then I'll be right at home.
just make sure you show your research efforts. Not that I would need to mention that to you, but our mod team leans a little bit to the Dark Side since Vader joined ;)

Bah. I'm not scared of Vader.
(I'd add a neener neener but I'm prudent, not stupid)
I find your lack of faith in the Dark Side of the Force disturbing... but suit yourself :-P
@Ghanima Of course I have no faith in the Dark Side. I'm new to Linux. :)
But...isn't Windows the dark side to Linux users?
I would guess so
good thing, win vs linux flamewars are actually not an issue on the Pi and on our site
while there is "win 10 IoT core" that runs on the Pi, nobody really cares about it
so it's for all intents and purposes a linux plattform
I am surprised anyone even tried putting Win 10 on pi. Waste of effort, win10 is such a resource hog.
IoT core, it's reduced to the bare minimum (more like a DOS than WINDOS), it got no GUI afaik
but yeah, it's for people who love the pain
as a martial artist you are actually one to go down that road

Refer back to my neener neener. :)
