@MartinSleziak I removed that tag because for that particular question, gradient is not a good tag. (The post asks about "gradient blowup" which was [is? not sure now] too specific to be a tag in its own right, but it does not have anything to do with the general concept of the "gradient".) I think the concept of "gradient" is useful as a tag generally speaking, though you need to think about its scope: do you want it to be only about the calculus concept, or include the geometric versions...
... or functional analytic versions, or the method of "gradient descent" for solving optimization problems. I think in all those cases the concept of the gradient plays fundamental roles, and arguments can be made for their inclusion.

Thanks for the response!
@TravisWillse The above comments might be useful in connection with your proposal to create the (gradient) tag.
I have to admit that I know almost nothing about other notions related to gradient mentioned by @WillieWong. (I know only about gradient in multivariable calculus/vector calculus.)

An old and inactive tag:
What about making a synonym of ?

I am not really sure whether I have something to add to what I said when this was raised here previous by @Andrews.

I see a tag , maybe it's synonymous with ?

I don't think that and are synonymous.
(And the messages following this ^ one.)
