@ArcticChar Actually, I add semi-simple lie algebra tag in case of this tag being deleted (that time the tag had no question). I post Proposal: Create "semisimple-lie-algebras" tag on meta: https://math.meta.stackexchange.com/a/30067/557551

@ArcticChar By Saad again, not surprisingly at all.

AndrewsProposal: Create "semisimple-lie-algebras" tag Semisimple lie algebras is an important class of Lie algebras, and we already have tag semi-simple-rings.

To be honest, this at least shows that Saad cares about tags on the site and follows new tags - that's something to be grateful for.
It seems that too many small tags are being created. Saad is definitely not the only user who is against creating too many tags without sufficient previous discussion.
There is a saying that it's easier to apologize later than get permission first. I disagree with that when it comes to new tags. When I see a new tag which wasn't discussed on meta first, I will almost always delete it. Especially if I wouldn't be 168% sure that I'd agree with having that tag on the site. — Asaf Karagila ♦ Oct 2 '14 at 4:36
In this specific instance, it's clear that some users think that should be created, some users think that it's not needed - bringing it to meta seems like a natural thing to do.
created and edited away: math.stackexchange.com/posts/3180567/revisions Probably it would be too specific tag, right?

Most of the time I cannot tell if Asaf is joking or if he is serious. Anyway I don't think he is practising what he said, at least recently.

It depends on your definition of recently. Here are some tag removals from last month: chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/3740?m=49348378#49348378
From the fact that Asaf Karagila is very often complaining on meta about creation of new tags, I don't think he's joking in this instance.

He was saying that he will almost always delete it whenever they see new tags (without prior meta discusiion). I highly doubt if Asaf would right away delete tags that he is not fammiliar with. (I am not against deleting new tags at all. But if several different people think otherwise, they should really step back and think if their action is justified).

@AsafKaragila Since I know from meta that you have quite strong opinion on creating new tags, maybe you have something to add to the recent discussion here and in the Math Mods' Office.
Especially since I quoted your comment above, it seemed reasonable to let you know that such discussion is going on.

I remove the tag [tag:krull–schmidt-categories] since it's created a month ago without any tag excerpt and tag wiki. Also, there are only three questions directly associated with Krull-Schmidt categories, which is not popular enough to justify its existence.

@MartinSleziak I'm afraid Saad is against correcting wrongly used tags, too.
