new-tag A new tag euler was created. I remember seeing the tag in the list of new tags already with zero questions - so most likely it was created and removed elsewhere and then used in this post.

The tag euler got another question.

Q: Explain and Apply Euler's Generalisation of Fermat's Theorem

As I understand Euler's Generalization of Fermat's little theorem in Modulo Arithmetic, it is: $a^{\phi(n)} \equiv 1 \pmod{n}$ However, I have also seen a version of the theorem which seems more understandable and goes: "If b and n have a highest common factor of 1, then $b^x \equiv 1 \pmod{n}$, ...

As far as I can tell, tags such as erdos, euler, gauss, cauchy are not good tag names. (Maybe there was even some discussion about such tags.)

One of those question was also using eulers-constant while actually being about eulers-number.

We still have two separate tags eulers-number and e - the latter is a synonym of exponential-function.

I think it's a good idea to clean this up. I'll come back to it at a later point in time.

@quid Some time ago you mentioned that you plan to look at the situation around the tags for Euler's number and Euler's constant.

It is definitely not urgent - the tags were this way for long time, so it does not matter whether something is done now or later (in 6 to 8 weeks).

Still, I wanted to remind you that old conversation. (And I also wanted to find out whether you are willing to have a look at those tags at some point.)
