The same user suggested a tag-excerpt - not realizing that links do not work there. I have moved the links to the tag-wiki.
In the rejected edit for the var tag-excerpt this user said:
> VAR is the 2-category of finitary algebras.
It seems that something like that is indeed used, but I do not think it is common enough to warrant a separate tag.

It seems that I was not the only person to notice the tag:
There seems to be no reason to create the tag "var." It seems to be much too specific. It doesn't even have a wikipedia page. See here for guidelines on tag creation: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/146949/… — jgon 14 hours ago
