To be honest, if I was a normal (non-candidate) voter, I think the combined length of all the answers would be off-putting, and I could understand the urge to downvote simply out of frustration. As it is, I also haven't read all the answers
I suspect the number of people to read all answers may easily be counted on the fingers of one hand
I guess there are a couple of possible ways to handle this
1) restrict the number of questionnaire questions
2) restrict answer length
I don't know the right answer
its a fine line between giving voters the information they need, and giving so much information its overwhelming
It might be a good idea to restrict answer length. (This is coming from the person who authored one of the longest responses).
I think that would actually make the questionnaire easier to answer.

True. Everyone knows it's easier to golf an answer than write a lengthy one :P

There are too many questions. Keeping the list short and rememberable would also mean there's no need to copy to questions into each answer.
Eh, maybe for us in this election. For some sites that get 30 candidates in the primary, you'd still need the questions in there in some form. Either that or some kind of sidebar, something.
